So let me get this straight, Campbell is tanking the season to take the Nebby job?
Campbell has leaked it to the players that he is taking the Nebby job so they are playing like **** and tanking the season.

It could be that the players - are mentally tired of ALWAYS hearing their coaches name bandied about - Notre Dame, the NFL, Nebraska, my neighborhood kids' PE junior high under 11 flag semi-pro team.
Yes, it is the life of a small to medium fish that the big fish come in and snack on you (Take your coach)
However, it is something that can also impact people. Do I think he tanked? Nope, he's way too classy and too good for that. Do I think he wanted to win as badly as he always has? Yes, yes I do. I don't doubt his commitment, professionalism or anything.
My point is simply this - the consistency of CMC's name being brought up, sometimes by the national media, other times by media and people closer to the program for other jobs - that is something that might wear on young players and even a veteran team when it happens over and over again. No fault of anyone's - it is simply the nature of the beast.
But is it possible that some of what we have seen is because if some of the players get the feeling - rightly or wrongly - that he's not truly 100% bought in - that might also mean some of the players aren't either if they feel like their coach has one foot out the door.
I have no inside knowledge but I have gone thru enough coaching cycles - both that have gone my way and gone against me - that it IS something that can happen.
We should do some charity bets in this thread and the loser has to pay NIL money to Blum.
As drunk as I was a week ago posting this (and i was), with the original spelling verifying my alcohol induced state, I stand ....or sit by it. We've been lulled to sleep by the 2020 season. F'in sucks.
