This is embarrassing. One of our “best coaches ever” is too engaged in nepotism to make the changes he needs. His buddies are the ones screwing this program and everyone calls this out constantly, but yet they remain.

“Win the margins” was once the slogan for this coach, who is currently in the midst of one of the sloppiest, error-prone teams we’ve ever fielded. We don’t lack talent, not at all. We have one of the best WRs ever and several promising RBs. But here we sit with a single conference win, within striking distance of victory every game this season, but poor coaching, play calling, and penalties keeping us in the basement of the conference.

Changes need to be made. If Campbell won’t cut his BFFs from the coaching squad, he needs to go instead.

End rant. See y’all in the basketball threads.

I hear you, but a lot of people are looking at BB to ease their pain, not so sure about that. BB will be limited offensively and will have problems coming in higher than 8th place.
I’m not expecting a championship or a sweet 16, but I think we should win a few games at least.

If we’re bad, I don’t think it’ll be due to poor coaching. Which is less frustrating.

What are we missing? Do you really think we are in the bottom 2 of the conference, talent-wise?
On offense I don't think anyone besides X has shown they are anything more than just ok. OL is abysmal, Dekkers is ok, RBs are ok, WRs outside X are ok, but none are major playmakers or difference makers at this point in their careers.

That doesn’t even matter. Our games have been so close that even with our current talent, we aren’t losing badly.

If it wasn’t for the mistakes and poor offensive play calling we could’ve won almost every game this season. That’s why this is such a problem.

Given how our offense is performing relative to other offenses in the conference week in and week out (often significantly underperforming the average points other teams are scoring against some bad defenses) either our talent is absolute garbage or there are major coaching issues.

Is our talent amazing? No. But even just 'ok' talent should be doing more than this against some of these defenses.

I would say it definitely matters if you have talent or not, our OL can't block and our QB doesn't make good decisions. How do you coach around that for an entire season?

Our games are close usually because our defense is stellar, and has some legit stars.

Yeah I don't think anyone is saying we should have elite level talent on offense but we consistently can't do anything against pretty bad defenses.

One bright thing is Tech has lost all of their away games this year.

Let's beat TTU and then I think we have a good shot to shock TCU and salvage this season. First things first. We need to take care of business against the Red Raiders.
Agree. I think ISU will have a chance to knock off TCU late in the game. All comes down to execution. Not much difference between any of the Big 12 teams. Maybe the breaks will finally go our way for one night.

At this point I'm just hoping to beat Tech and go to a crappy bowl at 5-7. Maybe we'll beat UConn in the New Mexico Bowl.
