Looks like gameday travel could be a nightmare this fall.

Whoever scheduled this project must be a HOK fan

This thing has been a train wreck from the start. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. They really need to find a way to do this before fall. Ridiculous.

Doesn't seem like it would affect much traffic getting to the game, maybe getting home if you normally took Hwy 30 to I35 North when that exit is closed.

For those heading south on I-35 who want to go east on U.S. 30, the DOT says they will need to exit onto westbound U.S. 30 (exit 111B), travel west on U.S. 30 and exit at Dayton Avenue (exit 150) and then turn back onto U.S. 30 to travel east.
Eastbound U.S. 30 traffic wanting to go north on I-35 will need to exit at Dayton Ave. and go north onto 13th Street and then turn onto northbound I-35.
Those heading westbound on U.S. 30 who want to go south on I-35 will need to stay on U.S. 30 and exit at Dayton Ave. and then get back onto eastbound U.S. 30 before using the southbound I-35 ramp.

Coming from Des Moines, there shouldn't be any impact. They will be forced to keep Dayton open now after games. They have been closing the eastbound onramp from Dayton to 30 after games for some reason.

If you look at the maps, it looks like the work is being done on the bridge over the old cloverleaf area. Nothing to do with the new flyover bridge.

Most traffic on Gamedays is Eastbound on US 30 to southbound I-35. That route will see NO detour. In fact, it may be easier to travel as the traffic eastbound on US 30 that would turn North to I-35 will either exit at Dayton or will be leaving Ames via 13th street

30 E to 35 N: 30 E to Dayton to 13th

30 W to 35 S: 30 W to Dayton, loop around to 30 E

35 S to 30 E: 30 W to Dayton, loop around to 30 E

Probably because the merging is a disaster from all the people wanting to get onto 35.

If you have to deal with that, you find a different route.
