I am concerned the groin injuries of TL and KG, despite sitting both today, won’t be significantly improved for the NCAAs. There was likely little benefit (seedings) to give Tamin a go today - so you may as well rest him along w KG.

In my experience it takes weeks of inactivity to put a real dent in healing a groin strain/pull. Tamin looked mighty gimpy today in warmups.

Hope I am wrong.

There are degrees of groin strains, but they always really hurt right after you do it. That said, in my experience I've had ones where they really hurt for like 2 days but were much better and weren't really an issue after only a week as long as I really focused on stretching out before running/playing. And then others I've had really lingered with different degrees of discomfort over that time.

Any amount of time both guys can rest it and get treatment will pay big dividends I think. These guys are getting treatment that us weekend warriors could only dream of.

And a lot of it will probably come down to pain/discomfort tolerance. I'm confident KG & TL will be ready to go next week and will play well. We'll see...

ISU was 27-7 last year. won the B12 and was the worst matched 2 seed. The were placed with Illinois and UConn.

This year they are 24-9. The ISU AP ranking was #12 before they just lost to BYU. AP might not be relevant though.

Bracketology says ISU is currently a 3 seed, but if Arizona (4 seed) wins keeps winning, maybe they could get a 3 seed and bump someone to a 4 seed.

ISU is 6-4 since February 8, not 7-3.

ISU was 27-7 last year going into the dance, ranked #4. They won the B12 and were arguably the worst matched 2 seed. They were placed with Illinois and UConn.

I look at 11 games since Feb 8th when they got Milan back. They are 7-4 including B 12 Tourney

Last year the difference between the 4 2 seeds was .15 in Bracket Matrix so not a huge difference. Also ISU finished strong but was poor early so kind of points to maybe equal leverage across season look.

ISU got Omaha. Illinois was consider bottom half 3 Seedd

ISU sits .68 above 4. But things can change

The fact ISU and Illinois who won their tourney kind of also says committee does not put emphasis on what you do there. You cant have it both ways Arizona moves up if they win Big 12. But ISU/Illinois does not get any benefit from winning tourney last year. Does not make sense. But you are right criteria should not change but is still a bit of a subjective process so they could shock us and ISU drops to a 4

A&M who was 2 and 5 last 7 sits below ISU, but again you cannot penalize Aggies more for 2-5 at end of the year, and they have a lot of good wins

Guess will see, just think analytics this year are actually stronger than last year. But how they do this thing is a big mystery with little transperancy

Unfortunately, groin injuries take a lot of time to heal. Tamin may make it back if we does not practice at all before the first ncaa game & stays in the whirlpool. Keshon is a bigger concern. I think you have to sit him until the 2nd week.

I don't see how the committee can keep ISÙ a 3 seed. They will drop in rankings at least 2 or 3 spots (may even switch places with BYU at 17). They are 6-4 in last 10, plus the injuries.

Love this team. Hopefully they can pull off a couple miracles.
Do you drop Duke from the 1 line. They have 2 starters out?

What’s the thought on Gilbert? He better be ******* playing right? Do or die time.
Honestly, I think we can make the second weekend without him if we have Tamin (assuming we play well), so if we can give him that extra week to recover, I'm all for it. We need him for the Sweet Sixteen and anything after for sure.

I’d rather not take that chance

I know NET isn't everything but, yeah. We're safely in as a 3

9 Q1 wins now is nice, too. That was 6 not too long ago but other teams got bumped up, finally.

Starting to doubt myself the more Wisconsin and Maryland win. They could be playing us off the 3 line. Need them to both lose today.

This, but it depends a little on matchups and a lot on the bigs showing out.

When the 3 bigs play well, esp Chat and DJ, this team is really really hard to beat.

Ride the bigs to the sweet 16, then Keyshon comes back to lead them to the final 4. I hope!

Speaking of injuries. This years conf tourneys have had their fair share

Lipsey - Iowa State
Roberts - Houston
Scott - St Johns
Hunter - Memphis
Nelson - Alabama
Williams - Texas Tech
Flagg - Duke

I’m sure I’m missing some but seems like there have been some big ones
