In 4 of our 5 games we’ve had a different leading scorer:

Holmes
Kunc
Holmes x2
Kalscheur
Grill

Having such balanced scoring and not relying on just one person is going to pay dividends games to come. Play tough defense and feed the hot hand.

I expect Osun to have a game here soon too. And to think we have another fantastic basket getter waiting to play in Tre King.

Let's hope so! Last year's team at times seemed to find no one to score in some conference games. Right now, though, they are darn impressive!

Sign of a deep team scoring wise. Kalscheur is still an enigma, when he is good he's hot. When he's bad, man I sometimes wish he would get pulled.

He does go into scoring slumps but he’s as good of a defender as we’ve ever had. Find a replay of the last few minutes of tonight’s game and watch him close during one of those last few steals. Without him on the floor I honestly feel like this board would be filled up tonight with posts about how we let the game slip away.

he’s the best defender on the team. When he baited Bacot to throw that back door pass late in the game and he just sniped it with his left hand was a thing of beauty. He made that entire play with his eyes.

Another (less) fun fact. Of all the remaining undefeated teams we get to play six of them:

Uconn
St John
Iowa
Missouri
K State
Texas

Our SOS is going to be coming in STRONG

Nitpicking, but Gabe actually had 3 steals, not 2, after the 3-minute mark.

And remember how he had a couple of struggle-ish offensive possessions/plays a few minutes prior (I think a boink-shot and a bad pass), we subbed in for him, then re-inserted not long after. Can't recall the exact time frame without re-watching.

If things were based solely on offensive production, he possibly doesn't re-enter.

Maybe the defense would've cranked up a notch anyway, but ... maybe not.

Maybe some day folks will understand that scoring isn't the only value players provide especially in TJ ball.

Maybe.
You're right, but it's not so much scoring as sometimes taking questionable shots. He's the one guy who I think forces things sometimes. But he's still very much a net positive, especially playing Otzelball.
