If 5-6 more wins are on there at the end of the season after a loss this weekend, it won't be looked at as a must win...so at this point, no.

I used to think this game was a must win because it may have been a nice way to get Iowa fans to shut up, but they typically just got louder and more insular when/if it happened.

This is true. Even when they lose, they have some excuse claiming to still be the better team. It's like the football fans are all Aaron White whining about losing to a team they are better than.

I bet we could make a bowl starting 4-1. That said, I still think the Iowa game is always a must win.

So I don't have to listen to Drunk and obnoxious Hawklets all the way back to my car after the game....it's a must win. Plus it is fun to turn on the Hawkeye melt-down show for my drive home from the game, it's a must win on sooo many levels. I want to see Hawk tears and Frosty beers!

Must win? Nope. UNI was a must win. Do I want to win this game badly? Heck yes. I have no problem admitting years ago, before we broke the streak, that Iowa was my personal biggest game. I would say that's natural after losing 15 straight. Once we won a few the game took a back seat and has stayed there ever since. It's a very very fun game and I love this week...it's what rivalries are about. But it is not more important than any conference game.

I don't think it's an absolute must win to make a bowl, but it's a must win for me. I can't stand having to listen to hawk fans all year when they beat us.

For a bowl bid, yes. For Rhoads' job security, yes.
To be able to grab popcorn and watch a Hok meltdown, hell yes.

Not a must win at all. I'd rather win any conference game than beat a mediocre B1G team

If you're a middle of the road Big 12 team, I'd buy this. If you're a perennial bottom dweller, a win over even a mediocre B1G team is still a big step up.

I'd rather beat Kansas instead of Iowa. Every win is important to ISU because we don't win often and have a goal of 6. UNI was a must win but going 2-1 in non conference is OK by me

If you have a goal of 6 wins how is Iowa not a must win? Your Big 12 schedule is a meatgrinder. Aside from Kansas, Tech, and surprisingly Texas, Iowa would be one of the easier wins on your schedule.

If ISU wins those three big 12 games you listed and somehow knocks off a team like Okie State then Iowa isn't a must win. I don't think ISU makes a bowl game anyways and it would be a lot harder with a loss to Iowa or Toledo but I'm not gonna think the season is a loss if we lose one of them, therefore not a must win IMO

All other things being equal, I'd take wins over TCU/BU/OU first as the top tier of the Big 12, plus because OU is one of two conference teams that Rhoads has not beaten. I'd also take a win over KSU because that's the other team that CPR hasn't gotten past yet. The rest are all pretty much equal to me, although KU has to make the top of the list because I can't take losing to them two years in a row.

There's a plausible scenario where ISU beats Toledo, Kansas, Texas Tech, Texas, and snags one more along the way (out of 6 games) - maybe finally gets that win against Kansas State who is on a backup QB. That would be 6-6 even with a loss to Iowa
