In anticipation for the first football game of the season, I decided to finally finish an ISU theme for Chrome that I've been putting off completing for a while now.

In order to install the file, you will need to download the file and change the file extension to .crx instead of .zip (the uploader won't allow file extensions it's not familiar with. .crx is the extension for Chrome themes).

Then just drag the cyclones.crx file into your Chrome browser. It'll ask if you want to install it and accept. Voila! GO CYCLONES!

Alternatively, if you are having problems renaming the file, you can also download it already with the .crx extension here: cyclones.crx If you just click on the link, Chrome should ask if you want to install it.

For Chrome BETA, use this file: cyclonesbeta.crx

Let me know if you have any suggestions for the theme. There were some limitations about what exactly I was able to edit so I didn't have quite the same freedom I had creating the Firefox theme with the buttons and such.

I like it! Thanks!

I remember someone made one for Firefox a couple years back. Anyone still have that one? We get firefox at work, so I want to grab it

Good to know. I was wondering what the heck I was supposed to do with those files. I rarely use chrome.

You don't need to open the zip file. Just rename and drag into chrome.

Nick, nice work again. :notworthy:

If you have Chrome setup to go the the Chrome home page when opened you get a special bonus. Didn't notice this on my home PC because it opens to iGoogle but got it on my work laptop.

Actually, it's the "New Tab" page. Just hit Ctrl+N to see.

I am not the best with computers but I cannot get mine to rename. All it does is change the name of the folder not the actual file so it looks like cyclones.crx.zip when i look at the file name.. What am I doing wrong to rename it?

color me stupid but how do you change the extension?

Wherever you save it go to that folder, go to tools/folder options/view and unclick "hide extensions for known file types".

View the folder contents in detail view and then simply rename cyclones.zip to cyclones.crx

You might have to change your Windows settings to show file extensions. In Windows Explorer select Tools -> Folder Options... -> View. Uncheck "Hide file extensions..."

After you've done that just right-click the file and select "rename".

Damn, I must type too slow.

Can somebody post a screenshot before I download so I can see what it looks like?

I've put a screenshot in the original post, as well as a link to directly download the .crx file if you are having problems renaming it.
