Is Purdy the guy?

Seaton on the Dan Patrick show (WVU alum) just said "you've got a first rounder in Hakeem Butler and mark my words, in two years a Heisman candidate in Brock Purdy":):):)

Purdy was so good under pressure yesterday, not by freshman standards, but by any standard. That was the most impressive thing. He was instrumental in keeping the defense rested when I'm not sure who would play in the middle if Jamahl Johnson would need a breather. I don't know if he came out for a single defensive play.
Not to hijack here- but speaking of Johnson and not hearing or seeing anything about Lima- is Lima banged up?

It's impressive for any QB to be able to do that but to do it as an 18 year old is incredible
He's a natural.

Big12 refs should be fined for how many late hits he has taken. With Texas Tech next week, it'll continue. Perhaps the only team dirtier than WVU, and has been for decades.

Once we lose Butler and DM does our offense go back a step?
Back a step from what? Next year with those two plus Purdy with a good OL? Likely a step back, but still sufficient.

We’ve only had one game in which all three have played together and that wasn’t close to the ceiling. DM is probably a generational talent if behind a good OL, but if you he line improves, Purdy and the other skill position players should be very productive.

I think the Brock kid from Quincy will fill in well for DM not sure who's going to fill in for Butler's spot yet though.

I've been following along for his senior year because Quincy TV covers my old high school and I get to read about both.

He ran for 260 yards on 13 carries last week, his back-up ran for another 187 on 7 carries. That's just stupid.

I think the way that he hung in the pocket on all those blitzes and delivered under pressure might have been the most impressive part of the game.

That TD throw to Deshaunte was quite possibly the best pocket awareness I've seen from an ISU QB.

He feels the pressure, ducks, moves two steps forward-right, never stops looking downfield, then delivers a perfect pass.

Purdy really showed a lot in the WVU game. He just changes everything that was wrong with the ISU offense. With Noland or KK back there WVU would have had 5-6 sacks and that game would have been a total dogfight to the very end, just like the TCU game. The defensive effort was insane, but BP's ability to extend drives and hang in there under pressure or get out of there really gave the defense something to play for.

Kid is good, hopefully he will turn out to be very special in a Cyclone uniform.

From Bruce Feldman at The Athletic:

https://theathletic.com/592641/2018...-my-midseason-college-football-award-winners/

Most pleasant surprise
QB Brock Purdy, Iowa State. Alabama knew what it was doing trying to snag him, but Iowa State got a stud. In two starts, he torched Oklahoma State on Oct. 6 in Stillwater for 318 yards passing and 84 rushing and the next week outshined Heisman Trophy candidate Will Grier as the Cyclones hammered West Virginia 30-14. Purdy is completing 75 of his passes and has a 7-2 TD-to-INT ratio. Beware the Cyclones.

Others in the mix: LSU’s running backs; QB Ian Book, Notre Dame; WR Antoine Wesley, Texas Tech; Cincinnati’s defense.

I Think that the Oline is a bigger factor in that. There’s also a lot of factors to consider. The D hasn’t really been a TO machine yet this year and that is another factor in offensive production (extra possessions/average starting field position, etc.)

I already have one Brock boner, but to add another Brock boner next year? Idk if TurdEmoji can handle two Brock boners.

I might be misunderstanding what you're saying but there's no way both DM and Butler don't leave for the draft this year.
Montgomery seems like a finish what you start kind of guy, I'm not so sure he is guaranteed to leave. We will see what happens.

He’s not in CBS most recent 1st round mock (not surprising for an RB in the current NFL) but hey I’m holding on to anything right now.

Slow start with his injury.

I have payed attention to what Montgomery says closer than any player we have ever had. He is a real leader, and someone that strikes me as a no regrets kind of guy. He will always wonder what if he came back for his senior season. I think he will be here and I'm fairly confident Butler will want to come back with him. Next season could be really really special with them back.
