Was thinking more of a Gene Keady.Yeah, a more experienced Bobby Lutz.
Exactly my point. Underwood played at KSU.Of course he played for the Horned Frogs.

Custard Cup's Last Stand?
"Tom Siegel, a 1980s Illini basketball and baseball walk-on, and Champaign’s Sholem family have put together a group of investors that goes by Alpha Custard Cup.
It includes former University of Illinois basketball coach Bruce Weber, who famously made a pit stop at Custard Cup on March 9, 2012, right after a news conference to announce his firing."

For anyone like me who wasn't aware of KSU's "tradition," I looked it up. Apparently Kansas State was a top 10 or top 20 program pre-1990? They had a bunch of sweet sixteen and elite eight appearances through the 80s, but their four final four appearances are before 1965.If anyone is curious about what surly is thinking, here's one of his recent posts on a KSU message board, where he ranks the big 12 coaching jobs

Would love to see him answer to this. For anyone like me who wasn't aware of KSU's "tradition," I looked it up. Apparently Kansas State was a top 10 or top 20 program pre-1990? I'm sure KSU fans make fun of Nebraska football for leaning on their tradition, but at least Nebraska was a top 5 program in the 90s and still has the fan and football support that came from it. I don't see how a possible coach - except maybe one that already has historical ties to the program - is supposed to care about the program being pretty good 30+ years ago.
If you just want to compare Iowa State and K-State since 1990...

This isn't me saying that Iowa State has incredible basketball tradition, just saying that it's ridiculous to think that a coach in the hiring process would think that Kansas State has any meaningful tradition.
Yep. And he knows it too.Kxno playing post game presser clips. Woof. He's gone.
