We're so lucky to be the only state that enforces this. Seriously though, I wonder if it ever comes out who initiated this. Was it the new AG? Some pencil pusher in the DCI?
DCI doesn't start these. There was something/ someone who requested it.

Source? I highly doubt that the coaching staff knowingly played an ineligible player for the 2022 season.
It didn’t break until the spring. They didn’t know he was betting before that. One of my kids works in the Jacobsen building. Look back at my posts & tell me what I said that turned out to not be true.

So the coaching staff knew Dekkers was betting on sports last spring... and named him our starter anyway? If so, then CMC should also be gone... how could he not be?

Are you saying they knew in Spring 2023 or Spring 2022

Prison time for embarrassing an athletic department?
I doubt he will get prison time. It says maximum 2 years, it is a misdemeanor, but more charges could come. Im guessing a hlarge fine, and probation etc, and also of course loss of all athletic eligibility.

Stupidity on another level.

But wouldn't you think the compliance office would pay alot closer attention to players like the starting QB rather than the backup long snapper?
Hold up...what on earth do you think compliance has to do with this? Are they supposed to block gambling sites on the wifi?!?!

Whomever works at the Diamond Jo Casino.

FYI - the books have compliance software that audits bet behavior for anomalies. Like it flagged the 1 (high dollar) OSU baseball bet placed.

’m sure it also flags names and likely relatives for oddities.
