Yeah, he wanted to pave his own way. He didn't want to be known as "Big Play's kid" here. He was pretty much down to KU and K-State so I'm glad he chose KU.

Him playing for KSU would be really hard to stomach, and I wouldn't be surprised if that played into his though process a tad.

There wasn’t much buzz that there was even a battle between ISU and Kansas. The pave my own way part leads me to believe the writing was on the wall and ISU didn’t waste much time and energy recruiting him down the stretch.
