Malachi Curvey chose Kansas over Iowa State, Kansas State and Missouri.

That really sucks, but not unexpected at this point.

EDIT: just read his letter and it's hard not to respect the choice. Reading in between the lines it sounded like he wanted to make his own way and stay close to home. At ISU he's always gonna be Brent's kid and I fully understand someone not wanting that.

100% agree with you. As soon as their coach moves on to a bigger job.....I say that with hope, then we can possible re recruit him.

Yeah, he wanted to pave his own way. He didn't want to be known as "Big Play's kid" here. He was pretty much down to KU and K-State so I'm glad he chose KU.

Sucks for us but you gotta respect the kids decision. Liepold's a good coach, who knows maybe he takes a bigger job a year from now...

What's not stated in that article was ISU's evaluation of him at his preferred position of OLB and prioritizing other 2025 recruits ahead of him.

I get the sense that Leipold is a "pave your own way" kind of coach and KU may be his last job.
We are about to see a gulf between what coaches can be offered to coach in the B1G and SEC versus anywhere else. There is now way he could turn down a gig at one of those schools if they came calling in the near future.

One more solid year and he gone imo. The money trucks coming to the Big 12 from the Sec and Big 10 are going to be huge.

Wait... Curvey has a kid who will attend college soon? I suddenly feel old.
Best of luck to Malachi. I think it's good he wants to create his own footprint.
