This thread that is probably 80% supportive and understanding of why he made his decision? This thread is filled with crazy people. My Dad wanted me to follow him into farming. I wanted to blaze my own path. It’s totally normal and fine.

We are about to see a gulf between what coaches can be offered to coach in the B1G and SEC versus anywhere else. There is now way he could turn down a gig at one of those schools if they came calling in the near future.
You’re actually correct, I overreacted to a few dumb posts. 40+ posts in and there are only 3-4 idiots. Proud of most people understanding the kid’s choice. This thread that is probably 80% supportive and understanding of why he made his decision?
He any good?
You'd recommend your kid turn down a million to play for 1/20th of that somewhere else? I'd recommend he have his brain examined if he did that. Isn't there a point where you'd be stupid not to take the money? Why not? Are there not human beings who have values that supersede money?
Fewer millions here, more millions there. . . . I hope there are men and women who evaluate differently other than just dollar amount.
Purdy? You'd recommend your kid turn down a million to play for 1/20th of that somewhere else? I'd recommend he have his brain examined if he did that. Isn't there a point where you'd be stupid not to take the money?
Are you saying that KU offered a 3* lb a milly??? Where they gettin' that cash??? I would love to have the kid, but...You'd recommend your kid turn down a million to play for 1/20th of that somewhere else? I'd recommend he have his brain examined if he did that. I thought the post you quoted was about coaches, not players. You'd recommend your kid turn down a million to play for 1/20th of that somewhere else? I'd recommend he have his brain examined if he did that. Isn't there a point where you'd be stupid not to take the money?

This. 100%Never burn a bridge anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if the opportunity to recruit this kid doesn't come up again in the next few years. Good luck.
We are talking about a lot of money. To say that someone who takes the choice of economic security is selfish or lacks values might be taking it a step too far.It depends on values. What's important to him. My god, money means so little in the overall scheme of life on our Earth. JMHO. Your opinion is what is is.
Why harder than KU?Him playing for KSU would be really hard to stomach, and I wouldn't be surprised if that played into his though process a tad.
Yeah once KU get their facilities upgrade they will be every bit the threat KSU is. They are already pretty much the same as us w/l wise. Why harder than KU?
KSU is a bigger rival than KU. They just are. Only playing for Iowa would sting more than playing for KSU.Why harder than KU?
I agree with this. It's the young folks that think you always chase the dollar IMO.Why not? Are there not human beings who have values that supersede money?

What?I agree with this. It's the young folks that think you always chase the dollar IMO.
That's not what I read there. Some people go into careers where they might make less money but be more happy than other higher paying fields where they probably would be very successful. People can have differing values while still having values. The post you quoted didn't say anything about no values nor did it say anything about selfishness. We are talking about a lot of money. To say that someone who takes the choice of economic security is selfish or lacks values might be taking it a step too far.
Values is an overused buzz word. This is like an employer saying they are a family not a workforce. It feels like an excuse to underpay your employees. We are talking about a lot of money. To say that someone who takes the choice of economic security is selfish or lacks values might be taking it a step too far.
