why are these dregs to society even allowed to walk amungst us?/?
Surely between the golf course and Ames PD they knew about this homeless camp.....Send them along their way...aboslutely no contribution to society by these people....its time for more tough love and not coddling to the same ole mental health excuse.....frustrated!!!!
I normally am a pretty stoic guy. This whole story has really given me a pit in my stomach though. All these stories from Jaime to her golfing coach has torn me up. We lost an amazing member in our cyclone family. This sad story has even hit the BBC - quite prominently on the website:

I don't like when these things are made a bigger deal because who the victim is. It makes me feel guilty for other families who go through this.
Now, since I said that, I don't think people understand just where Celia had been or where she was headed. Womens golf is really overlooked so it's understandable but she was a pretty big deal, especially in Europe. Annika Sorenstam also had a picture with her I think after she won the Am over there. I know it shouldn't have any more of an effect on a person but it really does, at least for me. Maybe because I follow golf more than most. It's just so senseless.
I think a lot of it has to do with the visibility and connection you have with the victim. As Iowa State alumni and fans it gives us a line to her. It’s along the same line with Mollie Tibbetts. It hurts us because she was an Iowan like most of us(or me a new Iowan.)I don't like when these things are made a bigger deal because who the victim is. How did this loser end up in Ames? I don't get it. You figure maybe Des Moines or a larger city..
Prison? I just saw 10 different paroles.I think I saw something that said he had been in halfway houses in Ames after one of his releases from prison.
Personal attacks aside. Naivety aside.
Without question, had Celia known that (some small amount of) vigilance was required, on that golf course at that moment, she would be alive today. No, she did not know. Had she known, she would have been watchful. She would have used all her earthly power and weapons at hand. To SCREAM, TO RUN, To FOIL her attacker.
For their sake Im just assuming they have PTSD from the hurricane.Imagine being this stupid.
I know the golf teams don't want to play Coldwater again; does anyone? Sad as well.

I have a question I'm just going to ask straight-up, but I don't intend for it to be insensitive: why exactly was this case such a big deal?
Attractive young female. College student. There is plenty of precedent. National news media. "attractive' sells. I don't like it, but there it is.
White girl. That's it.
Pretty much. All-American college girl from a cozy little Iowa town. The media loves this stuff.
They love it because the white audience loves it.
If Mollie were black or brown, nobody would have heard of the whole thing.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII don't think so. Here is a small sample of why not when the question was put forth why the Tibbets case was such a big deal............
So you see, Mollie wasn't afforded the same luxury. Being a rural, young, attractive, white All-American girl from a cozy little town she had to carry the cross of white privilege to her grave. Fortunately, being from Spain, this young lady will not.
