CW is short sighted on some things, it's worked out for a lot of other schools aside from ISU having it work. If he's not ready by now to get a shot over aa, I can't imagine he ever will be.

Marvin McNutt seems to be doing ok.

Austin Flynn was pretty much $$.

Congrats on being a ****. Your posts really have nothing to offer, ever. Who knows if his injury is a 1 or 2 game thing, or if its more serious than that. Of course he is injured because he didn't play tonight, and didn't look good warming up last week, but perhaps it's more serious than that? That's right, you don't know, but I do. I'm sure the coaching staff doesn't care if the other teams know that he is injured, but I'm sure that the coaching staff does care if the other teams know how serious it is. Because of the uncertainty, it makes creating a game plan that much more difficult. But obviously none of this will get through your thick ******* skull.

That makes no sense. Do you think that teams are game planning for us 3 weeks out? Do you? Do you really?

You have some inside info on his injury. Congratulations. You've got that on me. What you fail to realize, though, is that your info is insignificant to all of our opponents.

Do you really think that coaches gameplan for the 2nd string QB in instances like ISU? They're pretty much the same QB.

I have a feeling that is not the last TD we'll see out of Capello. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't he run pretty much our identical offense in HS. I thought I remember hearing that when we got him. Jury is still out on Tiller and Arnaud is doing the best he can with what we got to go on. But everyone knows Arnaud isn't the right type of QB for this offense. He's not consistent or accurate enough to complete the balls that are needed to make this offense really click. Unfortunately, this all takes time people to get all the right people for our offense. We still have over half a season left and tons to play for. Just remember it's Rhoads and crew's 2nd year. I'll be honest: I sometimes forget it, seems like a good while.

Im not a coach but AA should start the rest of the year. He is the best we got. But if we are getting whooped I want to see what Cappelo can do. Tiller is not the answer. Sorry TIller homers he is Not it. I want to see what Cappelo and or Barnett can do. Its time to look at the future. I want Tiller to remain at ISU but he isnt a QB he needs to be placed in a role where he can benefit ISU. He is an athlete get him on the field. But if AA struggles from here on out it has to be Capello or Barnett who get snaps to see what we have for the future.

why is bueker a qb- all he does is hold the football on extra points and on field goals---
why can't he play at tight end with his size--hell we r wasting this kid's talent as big as he is......

Finally!!!!! Thank you for setting them straight, because i know as you know what is happening behind the closed doors and until all the other that think they know what is happening get a clue then they can just keep quiet.. all u want a be sport writers and coaches have no clue what is really happening behind the doors...so until you know all the facts like a few of us, I suggest u keep your mouth closed instead of bashing a player u have no clue what has been happening the last 3 weeks!!

Capello only played because Tiller is injured. I wish I could share more information on that but I'm pretty sure the coaching staff doesn't want it out there. On a side note, Capello looked good for the limited time he was in there.

This is NOT what I like to hear. When Capello came in last night, I was thrilled because I was thinking that the coaches finally have realized that Tiller is NOT the future for us at QB, and they wanted to see what Capello could do?

So to hear that it was only because Tiller was hurt, is disturbing to me. This offense will not be better the next two years if Tiller is our QB. He's just not a QB. It's very easy to see. He's been given enough opportunity to show what he can do, and it's just more of the same. He would make a great WR IMO.

If Capello, Barnett, or Richardson isn't starting at QB next year... I will not support this team financially in any way. Sorry. I hate saying that, but at some point you just can't support doing the same things over and over again and expect different results.

What if Tiller is better next year than any of those guys? That's why Arnaud is starting and playing right now. Not because he is a senior, or from Ames, but because as bad as he can be at times, he's still our best QB by a significant margin.

if one of those three doesnt start next year, then we are in a world of trouble at QB. Unless Tiller makes huge strides, which he could.

With a spread attach, the QB makes or breaks, the offensive unit.

True. I should have clarified that unless Tiller makes HUGE strides as a QB, which he could, then we are in BIG trouble if he's the guy.

The FCS guys said Todd Reesing was the type of QB they hoped Capello could be. Obviously who knows about that, but if we could get a QB like Reesing I'd be thrilled.

Very accurate, but still mobile. That's what we need.

I asked that question in the mailbag last week. CW said it was ridiculous.
Chris Williams' weekly Iowa State Cyclones mailbag | Cyclone Fanatic

But in my mind it makes sense.

I never told you that moving Tiller to WR was ridiculous. I said that moving Arnaud and Tiller to WR in the middle of the season and playing a RS FR at QB was ridiculous.

If you want to do it in the offseason or in the spring, that's fine. But just all of the sudden moving AA (who has played QB for 4 1/2 years now) to WR is not a legitimate option in my opinion.

Yeah I just went back and re-read that mailbag. I'm still not changing my stance. If this is like a Phillips Bates/Austen Flynn situation where those guys have actually been practicing at WR, that is one thing. But we've never seen that look. I just don't get the point in moving a guy (AA) who has being playing QB for 4 1/2 years to WR right now in the middle of the season?

The Arnaud portion of your question is what floored me the most. That and the fact that at that point, James Capello had really hardly ever been seen by Iowa State fans who don't go to practices. The question was a MAJOR stretch in my opinion. It doesn't mean I am right though.
