GFS calling for 5-6 inches in Ames, but NAM is calling for under an inch. GFS calling for 6-8 in Polk County, NAM is calling for 2-4. I'm guessing there is still a lot of unknown, but it does look like it 20-30 mph winds all day tomorrow.

Love having the windows open at work while an impending winter weather storm advisory suggests we prepare for snow and ice! Crazy!

yeah, we're supposed to hit 58 today, thunderstorms this afternoon, flood watch (creek on my way to work was already getting over its banks), 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow, then a high of 7F on Thursday with a wind chill of -15F.

yikes, 8-10 up here and home too.

This weather is going to be hell on the animals - soggy, wet and warm today after a cold snap.......right back to another cold snap and a ton of snow :(

Precip stats this evening, with snow starting around 6 AM tomorrow and lasting through the day tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure the snow in Iowa is starting tonight and will be done early tomorrow.

Systems seems to be moving slightly SE. Totals dropped on KCCI from this morning to noon. Still showing around 4" for Des Moines, but only 90 miles NW of Des Moines it's about an 1.5". If it keeps moving SE then Cental Iowa may not get much.

Looks like it snows from about 3am through late morning right now.
