The one wasn't his fault, and the two others were some of the worst picks I have ever seen. I have no idea what he was thinking at all on those.

That being said, he was something that ISU players dont seem to have very often, and that is the clutch gene.

My hope/assumption is he was jittery in his first game with the crowd, stadium, against a pretty good defense and once crunch time came he just settled in and made plays.

I'm excited for the future and love his ability to get ten or 15 yards scrambling on 3rd down and to make something happen when the pocket collapses.

This is the worst game by an ISU offensive line that I can remember...quoting ben bruns.....Dont worry benny boy, because I agree with you...Poor old Steele was running for his life all night.

It was his first ever big 12 game, give him a break. I thought he flashed signs of being a very good quarterback.

I was shocked how poorly he was playing. Thought we may get Barnett, but to his credit he pulled it together and won that game. He has excellent scrambling and running ability. Also, had some nice touch on short passes. Hopefully, the play calling and blocking get better.

Steele Jantz won this game for us by staying composed in the 4th quarter. He easily could have given up. He had zero time to pass aswell. Gonna be good

The guy is a gamer. Got a little excited at times but you have to expect that in his first start. He showed he can make plays with his legs and will go through his reads. Considering he had no running game and was running for his life the entire night, I was impressed.

At the end of the day, he came through in the clutch and kept his composure which ended up winning us the game.

Coaches got a big week. Hopefully they can get healthy and clean up some of the mistakes and stupid penalties.

Now that I've watched the game on replay I take back anything that I said yesterday negative about Jantz. Sure, he had a few terrible throws. He also had a couple good throws end up badly and plays that looked like TDs called back for no apparent reason. It will be interesting to see how he looks against Iowa, but I think that this guy is a winner and we will see great things from him.

The thing I like about Steele is that he has a very high ceiling. Clearly the best feet we have seen on a QB since Seneca. Very strong arm, and seems to have the whole moxy thing down. He seems to have that 'it' factor that you just can't teach. He wasn't bad yesterday, and I think we are going to see very noticeable improvement from him week to week.

I'm not posting this to put down Steele at all, as I didn't see the game, just listened.

I'm not sure you can call this a "huge" game, though. UNI is an in-state "rival" and are a very solid team, but they are FCS. You guys were posting such statements in the weeks prior to the game. It isn't Tenn Tech, I agree, but it still isn't a huge game when you are playing an FCS team. I said the same when Iowa narrowly beat them as well.

I really don't think you can call a QB clutch or savvy until you have seen him play a few more games. NOR can you call him horrible for throwing some (awful, as it seems) picks. It was his first game and both teams sounded like they played pretty awful until around the 4th quarter. I'm sure his decision making will get better but I'm not sure you can count on him to do that 4th quarter come backs against the best of the B12. If he proves he can do that....well then you will have a great one in your backfield.

Steele will prove his worth in the coming weeks. You can't judge his moxy or decision making off one game, IMO. He is still learning to be a QB in major college football and it will either come or it will not.

I sure have, once at Texas A and M when AA was hurt and he horrific and of course we lost....Then there was the Mizzou game at Jack Trice last year and it was equally as bad....

For Steele, that will be the most nerve racking game he plays I will bet. It wasn't a "huge game" in the terms you thinking of, but for him, when he hasn't ever been on that big of a stage, it was huge.
