*I’m expecting Aiden Flora to either be put on scholarship or transfer. He has Breece (or Abu) level athleticism. A high school QB, if he can harness that…well, ‘nuff said.

*If he “played over” Dylan Lee, it’s either because his unique talents suited those spot moments (he still redshirted, after all)—or we’re going to find out the Spring that Dylan was dinged up.

*Speaking of “dinged up”, Carson definitely was. For reference, in high school Abu ran a 10.84 100m. Carson ran a 10.85. Did they look the same?

Btw, Flora ran a 10.62, iirc.

After seeing Flora in spot duty, I'm a big fan. Quick, strong, decisive. Had no idea he had that speed, too. Why not consider him a lead RB, what don't the coaches like? (If that's a reasonable question.)

What is Dylan's 100m speed, do you know? Thanks.

*In any case, with Carson dinged up, and Abu just a bit out of kilter, if both get fixed, they could have huge seasons this fall.

Again, I was more impressed with Flora than Abu; I do not mean to disparage Abu by any means. Hope he can find his groove.

And, a Star goes to you, Aclone, for presenting such interesting information. Boo-Rah! (heh)

Some guys don’t run track (Breece didn’t), or their track results are hard to find (like WR recruit Karon Brookins).

I don’t have any times for Dylan, suspect he was the former.

I think our chances to land Akih are slim to none. He is starting to pick up some big time offers. No longer 'warmer' to ISU. Is 'warm' to ISU, Miami, Penn State, USC, Pitt and Michigan State. Ohio State will also offer soon I'm sure.
It confuses me how some of you folks think that “warm” and “warmer” are relevant to what any kid decides.

It’s just a guesstimate by recruiting sites, making inferences from what kids have said.

Counting Kareem Hunt (2013-2016 Toledo)

Matt Campbell has 4 RBs in the NFL
Another name from Toledo: RB David Fluellen. Signed as an UDFA. Played 5 seasons for the Titans with some stints on the practice squad.

Sorry, I’ve been mostly out of the loop lately. I’ll try to address some of the thoughts in this thread.

*We’ve been running with four RB’s on scholarship lately. That’s a bit risky. I’m assuming that the scholarship limit bump means that an additional slot is allocated to RB. At least.

*I’m expecting Aiden Flora to either be put on scholarship or transfer. He has Breece (or Abu) level athleticism. A high school QB, if he can harness that…well, ‘nuff said.

*And one or both be off to the NFL. Which is what this roster composition—including hopefully adding Akih—is setting up for.

*For those of you wondering, Franklin (TX) not only counts as “small school” for the state, it’s literally out in the middle of the iikes of College Station, Waco, etc. Much like how hardly anyone generally looks at Brett Eskikdsen’s modest-sized school, even though that one is in a population center.

*I kinda feel like CMC asked his staff, “Hey, we’ve got one scholly to burn, who’s the best left on our list?”

*DM or Kareem Hunt level seems closer than Breece.

*I’d expect both he and Ryver Peppers to redshirt. Er…’26 is going to be fun!
To your point about comparing the speed of Sama and Hanson, bigger guys rarely look like they're running as fast as smaller guys. Smaller guys generally have shorter legs and have to move them much more quickly than longer legged guys to get up to speed, so it gives the appearance that they are running faster. The point is, it's a fool's game to look at two different players who are not usually on the field at the same time and try to draw any conclusion as to which one is the fastest.

Also, Aiden Flora was part of one of the fastest high school backfields likely in Iowa high school history. Brevin Doll, Flora's RB at ADM, ran a 10.4 100 meters in high school, while Flora ran a 10.61. Doll signed with Iowa, unfortunately.

True, but when the big schools come knocking, our chances become basically zero. Yes, we have beaten out some of these schools for a kid on occasion, but I dont see it happening with Akih.

You're right. When watching Breece run on TV, he didn't look as fast as he actually is because he's a bigger RB.

I liked what I saw out of Flora even if most of his carries were against a poor Arkansas State team. I think he has a high ceiling.
