I can't wade thru all these threads and posts. Has any thought been given to Jeff coming in?? He was here when Hoiburg was hired but named Director of Basketball Operations, whatever that is and left shortly after stating that he wanted to coach. Too bad he wasn't allowed stay on in a coaching capacity as he may have the job now. ISU's all time leading scorer and bleeds cardinal and gold.

I THINK there was a college diploma requirement? Seem to remember JG was coming back to both finish his degree and get a start in the coaching profession but needed to graduate first?

Former Cyclone great with no coaching experience? That'll never work.

I think he would be a good entry level assistant if he qualifies. Would that prohibit our recruitment of Bridges?
If he is brought in as a full assistant coach no. If my grasp of ncaa "logic" is correct.

Jeff did get his degree from ISU in 2005. He was hired by McDermott (just prior to him leaving for Creighton) to be an assistant, but then Fred made him Director of Basketball Operations instead. That is when Jeff decided to go back to Michigan as he had a preference for coaching.
