Following Jeter this season as he climbs the all time hit list. He passed Brett yesterday, 29 behind Ripken. Barring injury he will catch Nap Lajoie, Eddie Murray and most likely Willie Mays this season. That would put him in the neighborhood of 1000 hit's behind at 38 years of age. Rose played till he was 45. Who thinks it's possible?

I'm a die hard Yankee fan and it's great to see his resurgence this year but I don't think he will catch Rose.

It would be tough to beat rose but I bet he will get to 4000.

Possible maybe not probable. That said if anyone can it will be Jeter. I thought Yount had a chance before he quit. Jeter passed him in two less years. He needs a couple of monster seasons.

I dislike the Yanks but Jeter is one of the best of all time at SS. I do think his career is within 3 yrs of being over. He cant play for a contender at SS for much longer.....that being said, trade him for Starlin Castro right now! He may be able to kill an outfield spot somewhere but his days between the bags are over I believe. He could also be a high average DH with a little pop possibly but still doubt that. I hope Castro can be a quarter of him soon.

Or DH for the Yankees and fill occasionally OF. If he keeps producing on offense, they will make it work. He might be the last of a legacy in today's game.

I believe he will retire in the pin stripes. He probably will be the last one to start and finish as a Yank. Possibly Cano but I'm not as sure.

I will be somewhat surprised if Jeter ever plays a position outside SS in a Yankee uniform but if that happens I wouldn't be surprised if they let Swisher walk (if they're serious about getting under the luxury tax threshhold) and move Jeter to right in the future.

Not sure Jeter has the arm to play right. But maybe with that front porch it doesn't matter. I guess I'm not sure Swisher has a good arm.

I don't think the Cubs would take Jeter if the Yankees gave him away.

Castro was better than Jeter last year, and has been better this year. And, oh, by the way, he's 16 years younger.

If Johnny Damon can play the outfield...

And Swisher's arm is average-above average. He throws out a bunch of baserunners because he isn't an elite arm but people are willing to test him.

Brett Gardner probably has left field locked down for the next 10 years if he wants it.

And I hope he is around for those 10 years if he can stay healthy. He's a pain in the *** on the base paths and between him and Granderson you can cover a LOT of ground.

Lastly, I'm not joking when I say my arm was better as an 8th grader than Damon's ever has been. His arm, for lack of a better word, is pathetic.

Maybe my favorite baseball highlight of all time. Two awesome outfielders working in unison.
