Is there any understanding why Brock is not practicing with the Team? Seems odd that this is a secret. I thought it was the gambling but then his name now never mentioned in the articles about gambling

I'm not actually sure if matters in terms of Ws this year. As long as different RB healthy, it's probably more on off OL. But hoping whatever is going on is not distraction in the locker room. And wish Brock luck in whatever next

Seems strange there's no info out there. Maybe it is related. I know Campbell said they can't comment with on going investigations.

It's not a secret. He's not dumb enough to bet on his own team, but .. I would assume he's back at some point this season.
OOPS! Edit... Everyone heard about Dekkars betting on his own team, and knew the names of the others. But no one knew how bad the last 4 were.

I think the speculation is not a gambling situation involving underage or fraudulent identity that brings charges, but maybe betting the NCAA will care about. But I know nothing.

The guys who have been listed so far are there because they were underage using someone else's account. That's a legal issue and that is why there were charges. Everyone else was likely over 21 and that's an NCAA issue. The NCAA has not weighed in yet.

Oh thanks. Did not know there could be more names affected. That sucks

I'm of the belief that the NCAA will just treat this as a wrist slap from here. If there is a suspension and the student athlete wants to appeal the suspension, this will become a nationwide issue. There are lawyers that specifically study this type of law. If they are given the opportunity to work this case on behalf of any student athlete, this will blow up in the NCAA;s face, IMO

From what I've heard he is the one looking at a 6 game suspension and the rest are only looking at a 1 game. The UNI game is going to be scary like always

It probably would be anyways but if it's because a few guys are out, that's a bigger picture issue regarding depth.

I wonder what the process is. Assuming ISU has to wait for the DCI to tell them exactly what each of the players bet on and how much. Then they report to the NCAA and suggest a penalty based on their recent rule change?

So we’re waiting on the DCI who obviously does not care at all about ISU’s timeline? I mean, they’ve had enough time to investigate. Let’s get this over with.
