He needs to be able to extend plays and create with his feet. Purdy could, so far Dekkers cannot. I prefer a true dual threat guy , but that does not appear to be our plan. Our QB is not a runner anyway.

I just sat down to watch my recording, so I missed the whole game.I set the DVR and now I have a recording of Around the Horn and missed the start of the game.
Why do you keep doing this? How do you know he's slow? From watching that clip? Really? And people think Dekkers is slow?? Wowsers.... Kohl is really slow.

I watched the same clip and didn't think he's slow at all. Why do you see a negative here, let alone comment on what you don't know?
He wasn't running his fastest, sure, but he was initially not committed to the run as he was still looking for the pass. As he commited and started to get a head of steam, he slowed a bit, anticipating the tackle.
But carry on with your negativity if you wish.
He doesn't move well latterly.Dekkers can run…. he just isn’t great at feeling pressure and knowing when he has to get out of the pocket and take off. Once he does go, he’s pretty good IMO.
Yeah, I think fans need to temper their expectations with KohlI hope Kohl is the next Tom Brady like most think on here.... that would be awesome! I'm all about that!
He runs straight ahead pretty well. If he needs to shift or make quick lateral adjustments he is dead meat.
I think Dekkers has slow acceleration and isn't quick, but has good straight line speed. Purdy was more shifty but probably slower once he got going than Dekkers.Dekkers can run…. he just isn’t great at feeling pressure and knowing when he has to get out of the pocket and take off. That is a really dumb way to show your support for Dekkers. You can support Dekkers without baselessly ripping on an incoming recruit. For his size Kohl moves really well. At a Nike camp he had one of the highest sparq scores. Maybe it was the highest, can't remember for sure. That's impressive athleticism for a 6' 7" QB.I wonder the same thing when everyone rips on Dekkers all the time, and already can’t wait to move on from him? I’m just throwing my support behind Dekkers…. that’s all.
Not down on Kohl at all, but I’m not ready to crown him yet. What is everyone going to do if Kohl plays and has a bad first game?? Throw him under the bus too?
Kohl will have his opportunity when he’s ready. Dekkers is still our starter.
Improved line play and a running game would help too. He was constantly put in difficult positions. He was great at distributing the ball early in the season when he had a run game and time in the pocket. To me, Dekkers doesn’t read the field well. It seems he locks on to one guy and forces things instead of checking down or taking off effectively. Hoping new coaching can help him grow in those areas.

I wasn’t ripping on Kohl at all.
Oh yeah, right. Not ripping at all. On second reading it seems totally complimentary. Lol!Wowsers.... Kohl is really slow.
Who cares which one is more mobile. You don't have to say Kohl is slow to prop up Dekkers. He's not, especially for his size. Again, your take is dumb.If you think Kohl is going to be more mobile than Dekkers, you’re kidding yourself. If you think Kohl might be a more accurate passer, now that’s something we can debate.
But does he run well formerly? He doesn't move well latterly.
This is true, but it was his first year, he could make tremendous improvement in the off season. Dekkers has the tools, but definitely needs to refine them. Kohl does not look like he will come in and run away with the job, but he may, you never know. I think they both have the tools to be very successful which is good. Stop judging everything compared to Purdy. Purdy was obviously better at scrambling, but both these two quarterbacks have a higher ceiling if they can find that it factor Purdy had.To me, Dekkers doesn’t read the field well.
