They need to land in OKC as St. Louis is not happening (Michigan State and Xavier) and playing in the altitude with our bench would be a disaster. Also playing in OKC probably means you have some conference crossover fans with Oklahoma.

Moving ahead of Mich. St. or Xavier in the s-curve isn't too hard to imagine given Xavier's remaining schedule and being ahead of MSU in the RPI already.

Have to feel good about the fact that we have beat 3 of the 4 #1's on Palm's current bracket. Only havnt played Nova.

Not concerned about our seed at all; only the match ups matter. Just want to avoid physical, big teams if possible. Agree with previous poster that Purdue would be a less than ideal draw.

I stand by that. A 60% Naz playing all season doesn't change anything. A 60% Naz coming back right now doesn't change anything going forward either. People go around pretending like it's a choice between no Naz and a 100% Naz.

Wasn't 60% Naz averaging 12 points a game?

Still hoping for a 3 in OKC. I don't think we get in St. Louis because of Xavier and Michigan State, although it's not impossible for us to pass one of them. Denver would be fine too.

Really the difference between a 3 and a 4 isn't huge, because all of the teams are so equal this year. It isn't like 2012 where getting a 7 would have been a huge upgrade over an 8; we got an 8 and got stuck playing #1 Kentucky on the first weekend.

If we're a 4 and play a 1 in the Sweet 16, that could possibly end up being a better matchup for ISU than being a 3 and playing a 2 - at least that would be more likely to be the case than in most years.

Totally agree with this. No 1 seed is scary like that UK team.

Boy, that top bracketology site gives Iowa about the easiest first two rounds and 8/9 matchup possible, compared to the other 8/9 bracket teams. This year just keeps on giving to them. And, would somebody that knows more about how these things are set up please explain to me why they insist on putting ISU and Iowa in the same half of bracket? Same thing could have happened last year. Why again?

Then, I say we get to play the fourth of the #1 seeds that we haven't beat yet. We should be in Villanova's bracket.

This would be fun. Iowa State-Purdue would also be an interesting matchup. Purdue is a huge team; they could score on us but would have no chance of stopping a Morris-Thomas-Nader-Niang-Burton type lineup.

And the UAB thing goes without saying...

Anyone think a 2 seed is still in play?

I'd think we would have to pretty much win out the regular season and get to the Big 12 Championship. If we could win tonight and at WV (somehow) that March 5th date with Kansas could be very interesting.

4 seed is not fun. Having to play a 5 in the 2nd round then likely the 1 seed in the Sweet 16 is brutal. I think ISU can get a 3 seed as long as they win 5 out of their last 6. A 2 likely won't happen unless everyone else starts to get beat up in their own conferences.

Definitely still in play, but we would need to win 2/3 of remaining road games, all home games and probably two in the Big 12 tourney. There is still a lot of time and shifting to do before Selection Sunday. Some teams will falter down the stretch while some are suddenly red hot. Everyone gets way too worked up in January and early February. This point in the season to the end will be what is remembered.

We beat 3 of the 4 #1 seeds, and one of the #1 seeds defeated the one we didn't quite handily.

I fully support ISU playing in the Denver bracket. And the ISU gamewatch bar is only a few blocks from the Pepsi Center!

If ISU makes it to Denver, I will be thrilled. Even though my tickets are up in the nosebleed section, it will be fun to watch - and they better win.
