Well I would think that is a little bit better of a situation for him. Wonder what Cysball20's thoughts are...

Next Pirates trade - both LaRoche's for a time machine to go back to 1992, the last time they had a winning season!

And are currently upgrading if you ask me.

Not sure what has been wrong with Hanrahan this year, but he was dominating as their (the Nats) closer at the end of last year. Milledge has been on the cusp of being a good major league for a couple seasons, but seems to be a bit of a head case.

They've gotten rid of Jason Bay, Nate McLouth, and Xavier Nady since the deadline last season. Hell, they had just signed McLouth to a 3 year deal this spring, I think.

That McLouth trade boggles my mind, Braves made off like bandits. They probably wouldn't of been able to re-sign Bay this year and Andy LaRoche was supposed to turn into a good 3B someday...

What's funny is that Hinske may have cleared waviers 2 weeks ago meaning the Yankees could have had him for 800k instead of costing them 400k and 2 class A 24 year old players.
Erickson, 24 in August, has 37 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA in 44 innings of A ball this year. Fryer, who will turn 24 two days before Erickson does, has an OPS under .700 and 11 steals as a catcher and outfielder in A ball.

Class A 24 year-old-players go no where.

Washington wanted to get rid of Milledge. He has shown up late to meetings and angered veterans. While he's a good talent you have to wonder as the Mets traded him and now the Nationals have done the same. Morgan was rumoured to be on the block as soon as McCuthen was ready to play. So with this trade when do Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez get traded?

Joel is really excited for this move. It reunites him with two of his best friends (Andy LaRoche and Delwyn Young) and puts him with a very good young team. He will be pitching in front of a much better defense and playing for some very loyal fans.

I agree with everything you said but the loyal fans part. There might be some loyal fans but not very many.
