So is he the next coming of Jeff George?
Who knows? Why are you piling on the kid? Let it go. Maybe he ends up somewhere and has a nice career. The sensitivity of this fan base when some fans feel someone has betrayed the school somehow has become a major turn off for me. He ****** up. I hope he does well. He doesn't owe the university or anyone a thing. At least he isn't out regurgitating bible versus or something. Another reason I don't care we're slowly falling into obscurity. College sports is a ******* joke and a shell of its former self. Good riddance. Burn it down. Watching Texas Tech become good in everything should tell you everything. We're in the minors of the minors.

Obviously you are connected to him because you are VERY sensitive about this.

I don't see many (if any) people bashing him. People are just saying that it appears that it worked out pretty well for us. We just won 11 games for the first time ever.

The Rocco versus Hunter debate is exactly why scouts shouldn't get carried away with things like arm strength, arm talent and height.

Hunter has more arm talent and height than Rocco, but there are zero situations where I would ever take Hunter over Rocco. Rocco is one of the nation's best quarterbacks, so was Brock Purdy when he was here. They did it with accuracy, anticipation, and being able to process defenses quickly.
Jesus, one of the nation's best quarterbacks? Get ****** real. Never going to be Brock Purdy. EVER

Rocco Becht is:

- 11th in NCAA among all QBs in passing
- Top 20 in passing TDs (note almost everyone in top 15 is graduated)
- AND, top 25 in points per game responsible for. Almost everyone in top 25 is graduating or heading to the draft:

Do you want to just ignore the facts? Like how foolish do you want to look on here?

That happens a lot with first year starters when their line cant block and receivers can't get open. That was a piss poor football team top to bottom
Actually, that was the best defense we’ve had under Campbell. Wasted with our horrible special teams and lack of depth at RB.

He didn't have Dekkers arm though. That guy has elite arm strength. There are starting QBs in the NFL that wish they had his arm. It's a shame he messed up to a point where he couldn't get a 2nd chance(even at another D1 school). I think he would have been special at ISU eventually. I give the guy credit for owning it and not blaming anyone else. I really hope he finds his way somewhere in professional football
Ya idk about that. Park had a really impressive ball.

You seem to be pretty defensive about Dekkers. It's hard to know if that team was piss poor despite of him or in large part because of him. That team lost a lot of close games and Hunter wasn't able to lead any game winning drives (except for Iowa).

He seems to be the opposite of Rocco. Hunter knew he was going to be the starter for years. He impressed everyone in practice. Supposedly Campbell was going to take him to USC. When it was game time he kind of folded.

In contrast, it seems as though Rocco wasn't super impressive in fall camp and then kind of became a gamer who led us to two really great years.
Some of those game winning drives didn't happen because of dropped passes. Texas particularly.

Piling on? Why is comparing him to Jeff George bad. The guy had a prolific arm, played in the league for more than a decade and threw for almost 28,000 yards. I fail to see how my comment was negative at all.

What I found incredibly frustrating with Hunter was when he pulled the ball down to run. He is a big guy and he would continually run down the LOS until he finally was pushed out of bounds for little or no gain. You are a big guy, at some point you have to find a little crease and turn up field taking a tackler with you. He wouldn't do that but would search for the big hole that was never going to materialize.
