Willie Harvey beat him out. Wasn't going to get major playing time.

If he wasn't going to play, that's not a real good sign. He was, by far, the best downhill LB on this team. Figure out a way to use him in the middle.

Congratulations to Jordan on the tremendous accomplishment of graduating, no matter where he goes to finish up his playing career, he'll always be a Cyclone alum. Sucks to lose a contributing player, but tone and message coming from Campbell seems to indicate that it wasn't a complete surprise, and the support of the staff on his transfer seems legit. That support is a very classy move on the part of the coaching staff, especially if the departure was unexpected. My guess though is that this was an expected departure that the coaches played close to the vest to respect the player and the process. Of course the positive tone could always just be spin, but it doesn't feel like that to me.

This is much worse than those guys, they both had a lot of potential but neither showed they could be a big 12 player game in game out (Coe barely did that), each were projects that never really developed at ISU. Harris is one of the top 2 or 3 players on the defense and plays the position at which we have the shortest depth on the entire team.

Both those guys got shots in the NFL. Harris won't. It's not much worse at all. I can't believe people still downplay the loss of those two guys.

Statistically should not be hard to fill in his 1 sack and 1 INT from last season.

Really curious to see if he gets picked up by a power 5 school.

EDIT>>>> Looks like no.

I both love and can't wait for more posts saying he wasn't going to get much playing time...blah blah blah. This hurts and at a position ISU is not especially deep at. (Where are we deep?) I feel the roster will get better over the next couple of years...this season might just hurt though.

This year will PROBABLY suck from a wins perspective but so long as we're seeing growth of the program in other ways I'm still all-in. We're sure going to field a MUCH different team in August - and I can't wait to see them in action!

Posts about him not getting playing time and getting beat out just blow my mind. He was 3rd on the team in tackles last year and got better as the season went along. There is a 0% chance that he wasn't going to see SIGNIFICANT playing time.

We were also 3-9 last year

He wasn't going to start but he would have played depending on situations. He was definitely a liability in the passing game and it hurts depth that's for sure

All of this board's justification aside, sometimes you just have to admit you can't put lipstick on this pig!

He was a good player and will be missed. Sounds like with Campbell's comments, it was well thought out and the current staff has respect for his decision.

How do people like you actually post crap like this? Lanning will go out next and you will post about how Noland had passed him and its ok.

Agree. It's amazing how any hint of negative reality is usually met with either denial, defensiveness or excuses. It's great to be a loyal fan, but stick your head in the sand blind loyalty is foolish.
