How do people like you actually post crap like this? Lanning will go out next and you will post about how Noland had passed him and its ok.
Grad transfers are free to go wherever they want. Only graduate transfers.
That sucks. Big blow.
Not following how losing arguably the centerpiece of a defense that finished 107 out of 127 FBS teams last year and came into camp out of shape is a "big blow".
The standard line of "he wasn't going to play anyway" has maybe never been more inappropriately (stupidly) used on this board. The guy started every game last year, had 70 tackles and 5 for loss. He was the national defensive player of the week after the Texas game last year. Plays a position which is one of the two thinnest position groups on the team.
Statements like that show the dumb *****. It's OK for guys to transfer once in a while. It's not wholesale defection. Guy graduated and looked at other options available to him. Wants to play in front of family.
He def would have played but I can assure you he wasn't starting..it does affect depth but guys like Harvey, Seeley, Mills, McMillin, prob fill void just as well...Harvey was for sure starting. If we were still in a 3-4 is be with u...but we moved to a 4-2-5 and now need half the Lbs so we will be fine.
Which came first? The decision to use a 4-2-5? Or evaluation of our LB capacity?
Seeley is about the worst LB option I have seen suit up and take the field. Saying he is an adequate replacement for Harris is just ludicrous. Maybe the scheme didn't fit him, but there will be some guaranteed running downs in red zone D where there will be no better LB on ISUs team to hold the line. When ISU is giving up RZ TDs 80% of the time next year this will be one of the primary reasons.
