Journey for sure. They're the only one that has songs with staying power. Foreigner just seems dated. I have never got the near universal love for Rush or Styx. I think they both suck. Probably blasphemy to some. Journey with Steve Perry would be the only one I'd pay to see.

The SF Giants play Journey songs during every home game. It's "Lights" in the middle of the 8th when the team is ahead and "Don't Stop Believin" when they're tied or behind. Steve Perry goes to a lot of Giants games and was at this 2010 World Series game when they played the former. Hearing "Lights" in that stadium is something I never get tired of when I'm there.

Of the original bands in their prime....

1. Boston
2. REO
3. Journey
4. Foreigner
5. Styx

I think that I'll go:

1. Journey
2. REO
3. Boston
4. Rush
5. Foreigner
6. Styx

Sad to say that I don't really think that any of those bands are worth a crap.

Voted Journey but would give a nod to the other two. Angie is correct about Bad Company -- and their music had more blues influence. Saw Journey right after Wheel In The Sky came out, along with Cheap Trick, Heart and the headliner Ted Nugent in Milwaukee (1978?). I was stationed in the Bay area, so I saw Journey several times at Day on the Green concerts in Oakland Stadium.

Journey and it's not even close. Their run of albums starting with Infinity (and Steve Perry joining) through Frontiers crushes any output that Styx or Foreigner may have had. Pretty much help created the power ballad and massive arena rock concerts. The only real reason they are popular to rip on now is that people are starting to tire of hearing Don't Stop Believin'.

Rush is massively overrated imo as well.
