K-State Experience Yesterday

Here's the tech nerd in me coming out, but one of the best parts about the experience yesterday at K-State was the fact that during tailgating and throughout the entire game, there was GREAT internet access so that you could Facebook, tweet, text message, etc throughout the day including inside of the stadium. Scores on ESPN popped up within seconds and not within minutes or crashing a page due to weak data coverage.

PLUS, just being at the stadium didn't completely kill your battery from working so hard to pull data like it does at JTS. I will go into JTS with 90% battery life and leave 4 hours later with 20% or less. Yesterday it had dropped like only 5-10% during the entire time.

This would be a FANTASTIC upgrade for our athletics depart to put into JTS as I think it would make the experience so much better and social for those both there and who could not attend to make them part of the gameday experience.

PS - Also the $20 parking right next to the stadium was a bonus too. LOL!

So, are you saying that K-State fans haven't yet learned how to use the internet? Hence the great access for you?

Also helps when there are 15,000 less people there also. Especially when the student section is light. I would estimate around 41000 people there. So that makes a big difference.

Agree with the OP on all accounts. Nice easy/close parking, friendly fans, very easy to get out with how they direct traffic, and enjoyed the in-game experience. Although the K-S-U-WILDCATS cheer seems heavily forced, but who am I to judge. ISU does goofy things too. Besides the kicks to the stones, was a great day. Hard not to root for KSU when not playing ISU. They are as close to a school as us just with better recent football tradition.

I've never understood how others have such great things to say about that place. I've been to a football game and two basketball games and believe their fanbase to be the worst outside of Iowa. I've been to several away games and have never had an issue. I'm not a person to ever yell anything outside of the game, nor do I start any conversation, but smile at everyone. But all three times to KSU I have been harassed in some way. I must just have a douche face.

Way up there
After the PI flag was picked up I made a comment to my wife about how bad we were getting jobbed, the guy behind us called me an idiot and told me to go change my diaper. This was of course less than 10 minutes after the deafening boos for what they thought was targeting.

How about put away the cell phone and just experience sitting in the stands? It would be a good time to update your "MyFace"* profile.

Seriously though I like to have twitter going to get people watching on TV's view on certain plays or to get commentary. Just adds to the experience for me personally.

Aggieville was fun per usual.
Fans were pretty alright for the most part.
Tailgating atmosphere is pretty lame, as was the crowd for most of the game.
Glad to see the stadium renovations make the stadium look less like it was designed by a six year old.

Always love the mouthy douche bags who sound off with hundreds of "friendlies" around them for backup. What a bunch of pussies they are. One of the reason I almost never go to away games.

I heard him purposely speaking so I could hear talking about how he " doesn't get why an opposing fan would buy tickets around the home teams fans" (we were in row 1 behind K state's bench for less than $50 a ticket, my wife bought them as a bday present and didn't think or care where the seats were), I turned to him and said if K State fans were worth a ****, these seats wouldn't have been available for us to purchase 3 days prior to the game at 30 bucks under face value. He sat down and shut up until the last 2 minutes.

We had a great experience, as well. Several KSU fans approached me to make positive comments about our team.

All my interactions with KSU fans were all pretty much positive. The music that place plays though makes me feel like it’s still 2004. Also their student section was pathetic but realize it was a break game.
