He now has offers from Nebbie and Wake Forrest. Sorry to say it, but if these teams want him, we should have an offer out to him as well. Nebbie made the NIT last year and Wake Forrest is in the ACC, and we were last in the Big 12. When does our offer come? I really would like to see Fred and staff target in state kids. You gotta have a little Iowa pride on your roster.

I'll be stunned if we ever offer him. At least I hope not. Your Iowa pride logic is flawed beyond belief.

Yeah, if the kid can ball and would make an impact here I say sign him up. If not..stay away. The Wake offer is impressive but I'm sorry...Nebraska is not that impressive of an offer.

Wasn't Wake's RPI over 200 this year? I remember watching them a couple times this year losing by 30+. I think they were the poorest team in any of the power conferences. Chris Paul and Tim Duncan left a few years ago.

So what Wake is in the ACC, they were 1-15 in the ACC, and 8-24 overall. They beat the likes of Hampton, Elon, Marist, Iowa, Holy Cross, UNC-Greensboro, High Point, and UVA. Most of their losses were just plain ugly. Jeff Bzdelik has never really impressed me as a coach. He never really did anything at Colorado, just happened to have a friend at Wake and got the job.

Yeah, Wake was terrible last year. They'll get better though, no question.

If Abrahamson is worthy of an offer, then by all means, go after him. But I'm not one of those guys who wants a certain number of Iowa kids on the team. Get the best players that give you the best chance to win in the Big 12.

It'd be nice to Iowa State could only recruit Iowa and still compete. But in today's world, that isn't realistic.

After the firing of Guadio and this year's abyssmal record, a Wake offer really doesn't impress me at all....Neb at least did some good things but I hope and believe our sights are set on better talent.

Bzdelik's track record tells me they will not get much better. He didn't do squat at CU, and look what Tad Boyle did with the same group of guys. He took a team at Wake that was 20-11, and they end up 8-24, with 10 guys back from that team.

Wake plays fourth fiddle in North Carolina to UNC, Duke and NC State.

If we can get better.....sure lets get them. But alot of you guys have the logic of just because the kid is from Iowa he must not be that good. If Kyle was from the Bronx you all would be saying lets go get him, NY toughness, etc. Same with you guys in football recruiting......this kid is from Texas or Florida, bring em in Paul! I understand basketball recruiting is alot different than football, but I don't think there is anything wrong with going after the top Iowa kids each year. IMO Kyle is one of them.

It's not because he's from iowa. He's not good enough, imho. YOU are the one obsessed with what state he's from.

umm NOOOOO! we do not want to and are not recruiting players just because nebraska and wake want them! that's incredibly stupid logic. it doesn't matter who else is recruiting them, it's about how they fit into our system. plus as others have already said, wake was easily the worst power six team this year and frankly, we are recruiting better players than 90% of what nebraska has

So you're saying we should extend offers to every kid with two or more high DI offers? So, we need what, about 500 scholarship offers?

Now you're putting words in my mouth. Some of you on here are crazy. Just mentioned some news on an Iowa kid that is gathering some offers and was wondering if we were going to give him a look/offer. Some of you must really be ****** off in life or bullied as a kid or something.:biglaugh:

If he was from the Bronx we wouldn't even know who he is.

I think we all wanted Barnes and Paige and Uthoff and I think they were all from this state called Iowa.

God god you are an idiot. You may not know this, but the styles of basketball found at Nebraska & Wake Forest are drastically different compared to the running style Hoiberg has implemented. Abrahamson would be perfect for ISU, but only if McDermott was still the coach.

I wish people would do more research before spitting out drivel like this.

Not saying that we should offer him or he is big 12 worthy, but everytime I have seen him play he runs the court very well. Here is his ESPN profile. Obviously Hoiberg sees something he likes as he is recruiting him.

Abrahamson is a long, lean and athletic small forward. He is a versatile player offensively and defensively. He can score the basketball from all three areas of the floor. Kale runs the wing fast in transition for the pitch ahead pass so he can attack the rim off the bounce. Kale has good footwork on the perimeter to create his own shot off the bounce in the half court. When attacking the rim in the open court, Kale has good body control. He has been taught how to use his body to protect the basketball when finishing at the rim. Defensively, Kale will take charges, deny his man and rebound down from the wing position and is capable of defending multiple positions.
Weaknesses:
Kale finishes most of his lay-ups with his right hand and needs to work on improving his left hand finishes. When shooting his pull-up or spot up three point shot, Kale has good elevation, rotation and follow through, but he moves his head down when taking his shot. Bottom Line:
Kale needs to improve his strength once he finally stops growing. He has grown 3 inches in the last year and could grow a couple more.
