Seems like a good fit, hok players going to so many alums' hometown team.

Never mind that so many ISU students are from Chicago and suburbs, let's look at our own football roster.

I don't see Kene getting drafted. He'll end up on a team though and go through a training camp. He seems like he's got enough talent to stick somewhere, but Cyclones and the NFL don't mix very well, even when it seems like they should.

He’s a classic player that went from undrafted to drafted because of his Pro Day.

A lot of the talk surrounding Kene is putting him on return duty. Is that a large need with the huge number of touchbacks in the NFL?

To be fair, that is only about 1/3 of the number of Chicagoland natives on the Iowa roster. And there are a lot of Chicagoland students at Iowa. Last information I had was many more than at Iowa State but I haven't really dug into it lately.

I'd be absolutely shocked if Kene doesn't get drafted after throwing up the 40 time he did. Speed sells in the NFL.

I think he could be the most valuable on KO and punt coverage with his speed. He could be the ultimate special teams player as a returner, cover guy and good 2nd/3rd string RB. I hope he embraces that because he'll absolutely make a team in that role.

Agree, cut Abdullah and draft Kene as the Vikes KO returner, ST gunner, and 3rd string RB. Kene would be a steal in the 6th round.

Didn't even think about the return aspect...the Vikes have a butt load of 7th round picks if Kene is there in the 7th there's no reason not to use one of those picks.

But as someone pointed out earlier, his 40 time I think will make some team take a flyer in the 5th or 6th I bet.

Edit: so I was way off...Vikes don't have any 7th rounders. IMG_20210429_191337.jpg

Maybe not as huge as it used to be, but it’s still a big need. Also a lot of teams love to have a 3rd or 4th RB with game breaking speed out of the backfield whether is a carry or pass.

I won’t complain if he doesn’t get drafted though, that just means the NFL let the Chiefs add more speed if they don’t take him in the 6th.

But by WHO? Whom? Who? What team?

Probably the team that has him as best player available when their pick comes up towards the 6th or 7th round. And his 40 time will have moved him up on most of their boards. Especially when they factor in backing up Montgomery and now Hall. And his HC is Matt Campbell.

After reading that I love Kene and his family. He's a student athlete like it is meant to be. Didn't know about his brother. That speed will hopefully get him drafted, but if not I have confidence he will do well in life anyway.
