I don't see Kene getting drafted. He'll end up on a team though and go through a training camp. He seems like he's got enough talent to stick somewhere, but Cyclones and the NFL don't mix very well, even when it seems like they should.
Cyclones and lots of things haven’t mixed well...in the past. The times, they are a’changing.Cyclones and the NFL don't mix very well, even when it seems like they should.
To be fair, that is only about 1/3 of the number of Chicagoland natives on the Iowa roster. And there are a lot of Chicagoland students at Iowa. Last information I had was many more than at Iowa State but I haven't really dug into it lately.Never mind that so many ISU students are from Chicago and suburbs, let's look at our own football roster.

You have to have somebody back there who can do the job when it isn't kicked through the end zone and there are a lot of punts returned.A lot of the talk surrounding Kene is putting him on return duty. Is that a large need with the huge number of touchbacks in the NFL?
I think he could be the most valuable on KO and punt coverage with his speed. He could be the ultimate special teams player as a returner, cover guy and good 2nd/3rd string RB. I hope he embraces that because he'll absolutely make a team in that role.A lot of the talk surrounding Kene is putting him on return duty. I assumed he isn't a punt return guy considering he never did it at ISU.You have to have somebody back there who can do the job when it isn't kicked through the end zone and there are a lot of punts returned.
But by WHO? Whom? Who? What team?I'd be absolutely shocked if Kene doesn't get drafted after throwing up the 40 time he did. Speed sells in the NFL.
I don't think he was ever a gunner either but he was quoted in the story as willing to do whatever the team asks him to do, including being a gunner, and endeavor to be the best at whatever it is.I assumed he isn't a punt return guy considering he never did it at ISU.
Agree, cut Abdullah and draft Kene as the Vikes KO returner, ST gunner, and 3rd string RB. Kene would be a steal in the 6th round.

Probably the Raiders & the ghost of Al Davis. But by WHO? Whom? Who? What team?
