Good post:

No OP, you were right. Iowa State is a good basketball team and I emphasize TEAM. That’s what separates them from the other lower seed teams. They play well together as a complete unit. UK must not get in foul trouble and allow Iowa State to dictate the flow of this game. I really think UK will be tested, but will prevail.

The selection committee did their best to backfill this south region with teams that can give UK fits.

I don't expect us to drill them because they are lightyears better than UCONN. I aslo don't expect them to drill us because we play as a team and have some decent talent.

I like seeing this:

"As another poster stated, I think this has the potential to be our toughest non-Final Four game."

Just stop it. Look at their record, who they beat and where. They aren't in our league. If we play at least a B game they can't compete. All this handwringing over a 9 seed is sad.

I hope their players are this arrogant. It would be good for us.

Look they are 32-2 and have blown out just about everyone they have played. Are they cocky? Yes. Do I blame them? No. Do I hope they are wrong? Damn right I do !

every fan base is going to have people who are confident. Don't be mistaken this is the NCAA tournament and no team in the 2nd round is "overlooked"

A lot of things will have to go right for us to win this game. They are NOT undefeated, however.

Every message board community has it's share of extreme fans. Cats Illustrated is by far the most active UK basketball forum, so yes we have some extreme opinions over there. But basketball games aren't won on fan forums, and I can assure you that most of us UK fans have a ton of respect for your team. I picked Iowa State to beat UConn, but I didn't expect what I saw last night. When ISU rolled out to a 38-14 lead, that was the most impressive stretch of basketball I've seen the entire season. If that didn't get someone's attention, they're blind. I'm expecting a very competitive game, and to be honest, I'm nervous about this one!

I didn't really see anything out of the ordinary. UK bball fans think they'll beat us soundly. If I were them I'd think the same thing...

UCONN's sense of entitlement was annoying because they didn't have that great of a season. Kentucky should expect to beat teams.

This is not true that Ky fans think this will be a cakewalk. We have one of the largest college fan bases in the country and their are a lot of young idiots on message boards.

ISU is a good BB team. A little unorthodox but that is what makes ISU tough.

I say this will be a dog fight either way and and the winner will walk away with at most a 4-5 LEAD. ISU shoots the 3 as well as anyone in the country but Ky has one of the best defenses too.

It will be a great back and forth game and could come down to one of the best games of this tourney. If ISU does win it will be.

I just hope the game will be called evenly and no players are injured.

Good luck to ISU and I hope us fans get to see a great game.

I can about guarantee you if it's not called evenly, it won't be because KU's getting robbed. UCONN was let back into that game because their bigs started tackling our team. Luckily, we're a tough enough team to fight through it. Tomorrow, we'll need to be super tough and aggressive.

Worst thing is that this is nearly a home game for them. It will give them the fan advantage and I think fans affect the refs also. If we win this one, we will have to earn it. We are capable, but can't give up long runs like we have in the last two games.

I love discussing BB with you guys but please do use KU. We are not Kansas.

Their fans seem to think as a majority this game will not be close. I have to disagree!

LOL some of these people don't know basketball very well and think they do because they watch a winning team play. I guarantee you almost none of them have actually seen us play, and UConn was probably the first game they did see us play. Mediocre? Okay. I've seen a lot of mediocre teams in my life and our team is not one of them.

The **** about "we have 5 NBA guys" is moot. That might be the case, but you have to play as a team to win. You could build a computer and get 5 of the top of the line parts, but you still have to make them work together if you want the entire thing to be awesome. It's the same **** with basketball, football, and pretty much every team sport out there. There's a reason why Duke lost yesterday, and Missouri lost yesterday. There's almost nobody on either Lehigh or Norfolk State who is a LEGIT NBA talent, except McCollum on Lehigh. Did that matter? no. It's called chemistry and team work.

Unfortunately, Kentucky does have that, but I'm driving a point home about **** I'm reading. If you're going to say "yeah we're going to beat this team who's 23-10" you should get more points than just "yeah we have some NBA guys on our team" because it doesn't. *******. matter as much as you'd think.

I love when people think that you can just load up on talent and there's no more work involved. That rarely happens. Now, do I think we have a chance? Yes, it depends on some things, but Kentucky is actually good this year, but they're far from the immortal team the media wants you to believe.
