When you go back and look at this season and all of the "what could have beens"...this could have been a real turning point for the Rhoads staff in terms of moving ISU forward, but instead they couldn't keep the momentum moving IMO.
I agree. They had about 3 games that were "could have beens". Unsure if that changes much in terms of Rhoads tenure at Iowa State had they been able to make a bowl game in 2013. However, that season was certainly the beginning of the end, starting with game one vs UNI.

For sure....getting over that "hump" just never happened (I mean, early on it did from what he took over).

That was the "big 12 apology letter" era for ISU. I feel that MOST of our fans have moved on from being the "nut cup" fans to "we can do this now" (but of course check any in game thread and you may disagree) :)

Really good interview. I had no idea he had a heart attack; really scary a guy in that great of shape can have that happen.

Enjoyed it a lot. Was hoping they'd get into a little bit of what brings him back to Iowa after all these years, but alas...

Often in the 'where are they now' segments the actual part about what they're doing now gets omitted. That was kind of annoying.

That 2013 season was seen as the beginning of the end but 2012 was also a sign that there was a ceiling. There seemed to be a bit of momentum after the Okie State win (albeit followed by 3 losses) but they turned out to be just average again.
