Kneel at end of game

I put this in the other thread too
If we knee and lose in OT we all complain about not trying to drive the field (Nebraska 2010). It never should have gotten to that situation. It's time to clean house while we have skill players to build around.

The discussion is about whether we should have kneeled while up by 7 with 1:31 left. Rhoads celebrated like the game was over (which it was), but they didn't call plays like it was over. They ran Warren right into a lineman that was able to rip the ball away. They had the ability to just snap the ball three times to either end the game or take a Mich/MSU type play to lose.

The charts say that when the other team has one TO left, you start kneeling with 1:24 left on the clock.

I went back on the DVR and the clock was at 1:31 when we took over the ball. You can't end the game there, but if you're so inclined, you could punt on 4th down and leave them around :10 left on their 20 yard line.

Or instead of punting, run backwards with the punter and take a safety!

True, there were several options which would have literally sealed the game without punting or exposing the ball carrier to a tackler. The most logical was to have Joel run behind the line of scrimmage for a few seconds and take a knee on the first 3 downs. There would be just a few seconds left on 4th down and Joel runs out the clock and takes a knee, game over.

Put a red skirt on Paul, he's really good at cheerleading...not much else.
Too bad, the boys played well.

CPR is a likeable and enthusiastic guy, but while he's so emotional and leading cheers on the sideline the opposing coach is more often calm and thinking on the sideline, which was never more evident than today.

You can end the game there. 40 second runoff after 2nd and 3rd down = 1:20. QB takes the snap 3 times, takes 3 or 4 steps back, takes a knee = 5 seconds each time x 3 = :15. 1:20 + :15 = game over, ISU win, KSU never touches the ball or the ball carrier.

As Lincoln said about Burnside, he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Assuming a lot there. I am as ****** as u are. Believe me.

but three fumbles (one not a fumble) are on the players.

I respectfully disagree. The one fumble, sure that was on Warren. His second fumble, he NEVER should have touched the ball. Down the ball 3 times. I repeat NEVER should have touched the ball.

The last fumble would not have occurred if we just downed the ball.

Basically, downing the ball would have prevented 2 fumbles.

140 yards offense the second half.
THIS X100000000. I know people are mainly focusing on the last 1:30+ of the game. For as heartbreaking as that is, that is not what angers me. It's the coaching staff's inability to make adjustments at halftime that cost us the game - not the decision to hand off to to one of the best players in the Big XII (Mike Warren) with about 1.5 minutes left to go. NO POINTS were scored by ISU in the second half!!!! One freekin' score and we win this game - and a fumbled handoff would have been immaterial. That is what I am PO'ed about!

How many times did we throw to Lazard in the 2nd half? Way too conservative! Play not to lose, and it never works.
