Seems about right to me, though the more problematic part is that he didn't let Self know about it until yesterday.

If it happened in Illinois, and didn't make much of a media stir, I'm not surprised. My company does annual background checks on employees. Sounds like it could be something like this.

Correct. It happened last summer in Howard's home town of Peoria and he did not inform Self of it. Self was unaware of it until the Peoria newspaper reported it on Wednesday and someone in the news contacted Self for a comment. I can imagine that Self is not happy about this at all. We'll see if it results in Howard's role with the team being "adjusted" after the end of the season.

I think this. His main responsibility is recruiting, so two weeks off the bench is not gunna have an effect on the team.
