This year, we will find out how serious Prohm is about the "starting seniors" bit. I think he had some kind of oath with the seniors he inherited. Plus, they were really good. But I think he is more committed to this year's incoming class than anyone else. His future years depends on the freshmen, not the seniors. He is playing guys with the next few years in mind.
What he is doing is playing the guys that give him the best chance of winning each game. Even the most slow witted should understand that.

Not sure about that. I think he plays whomever is going to help win each game. Having a winning season is just as important to upcoming seasons as playing freshmen now. I see Conditt's time decreasing as Solo/Lard round into form with each upcoming game.
I hope Conditt gets enough minutes to see how effective he can be blocking shots in conference play.

This year isn't about building for the future and making sure the freshman are acclimated. We need wins and tourney appearances now.

Bizarre post.

It will be interesting to see the rotation when everyone is back to form. Prohm usually likes a 7 to 8 man rotation and with the depth on this roster it may have to be a 9 to 10 man rotation based on matchups and foul problems. Not sure it's going to be as much of who starts more than who finishes when someone gets a hot hand with a group on the floor

I love this photo from the second half of the last game, so much talent and line up options for conference play .

That is an interesting color if it's real (though I expect it is not).

And, while I don't see Wigginton starting yet, I'm guessing his minutes will be north of 20.

Regardless of who starts and when they come off the bench, I just want to keep seeing chemistry with whoever is out there.

I think Prohm's approach with Lard shows that he is building for the future. He could leverage everything for this year and try to force Lard into the lineup, but he isn't doing it. Even after all that he has invested in Lard, I think Prohm is willing to let it go in order to see his new players get well-situated with Wigginton.

He really doesn't have to "force" anyone in but Wiggs is probably our most talented player.

If he was going to start whoever gives them the best chance at winning, then Halliburton would be our starting PG. But I don't see that happening.

I'm not saying who should sit, but Halliburton is our best PG IMO.

Problem is, that's your opinion. Prohm is starting who he thinks give him the best chance to win. Same with 95% of all coaches in basketball.

There's clearly an Instagram filter on the picture, which distorts/changes the actual hue of anything in it.

Agree. I see Nick stepping up in conference play and asserting himself more. WAAAAY too early to conclude Haliburton is a better PG than Babb without seeing him on the road in conference play. There is more to running a team than scoring points. I prefer getting other players involved to get them into the rhythm of the game vs. a PG scoring a lot of points at the outset. There is also the small point of Babb being a better defender, especially since we switch so much and a bigger/stronger player is posting up Babb/Haliburton.

I have a lot of regard for Babb's abilities and if Haliburton proves he's better in conference play, then that means an even higher ceiling for the team. As stated, I trust Prohm who just might know a bit more about the players' abilities whom he sees every day vs viewers' opinions based on televised games.

Way up there
There are people really don't think NWB should start? Or that he is only starting bc he's a senior? I mean if you don't understand the game of basketball, just come out and say it. No need to make ridiculous comments.

10 man rotation likely in my opinion...

NWB
Wigginton
Shayok
THT
Jacobson

Haliburton
Lard
Young
Lewis
Talley

There's a shot Conditt sees minutes if for whatever reason the first three bigs are ineffective or if Lard is still in Prohm's doghouse, but my thought here is that these 10 will all see time. Conditt and Griffin just have too much in front of them.

I think that Prohm will start with the guys from the last game, but will sub a lot, depending on who is playing well, and what OSU throws at them in terms of pressure. It is nice to have options instead of 6 guys available.

As expected it was the same starters for both halves as the last game, but the most interesting thing was the closing lineup included both Lard and Wigginton. If that is what he thinks is ISU's best lineup it is possible that he starts that group at some point.

From the box score the minutes brake down:
Haliburton 38
NWB 37
Shayok 35
Wigginton 30
Jacobson 19
Lard 16
Horton-Tucker 15
Young 5
Lewis 2
Talley 1

It ended up being a 7 man rotation. I think Lindell may be ready to start vs KU (if not he'll be starting soon after). Haliburton is going to difficult to pull from the lineup though 39 minutes last night and the most consistent 3 point threat as this time. The Lard/Jaocobson split will be fascinating to watch, I think Young maybe still affected by his injury, he hustled last night but did look a little rusty and not comfortable. I was a little surprised Talley only saw 1 minute, he may be the one who will be most affected by the more talented roster. I doubt CSP would want both NWB and TH playing 38+ minutes every game though I saw rumors Horton-Tucker was recovering from a sickness and gutted through which explains his minutes and I'd expect him to get up to 25 when healthy.

It's going to be interesting to see how Prohm does this from game to game. I'd guess that only Wigginton & Halliburton are almost certain to get big minutes every game. I realize Shayok probably will too, but, wow, he really struggled last night. I suppose Babb will have a high floor too, but I think he'd be better in the ~25 range; he played well in the 2nd half last night. I'd be willing to bet that that will be the worst game for each of Shayok, Jacobson, and THT all year. Yet, we still won. If THT was sick, that helps explain for him.

I was surprised Talley & Young only got 1 & 5 mins, but it's going to ebb & flow from game to game. Will need Lewis' shooting in some games too. Hope all the players can buy into that.

Horton-Tucker (starter-like minutes spelling the wings, come in and bully the opponents' bench when they are tired and he is completely fresh... I know he can score, but his defense is suspect, he is a better bench gunner right now)

Jacobson (okay if he still starts, though Lard might end up playing just as many/more minutes and probably finishes games, as we saw down in Stillwater)

Young (still need the big guy for bench depth)

Lewis / Talley (and only spot minutes at best, sorry guys)
