Wow that might be the best recruit Iowa has ever had ratings wise. #5 DT in the country.

First off, this is still speculation by members of the media. Morehouse tweeted that it is all but a done deal for his commitment to Iowa, but I'm still not sold.

Also, Iowa has had some pretty solid recruits since Ferentz has been here, so it wouldn't be best rating wise, but it would be up there. If you look at some of the higher rated recruits, you probably have never even heard of some of them. Goes to show that ratings and stars don't mean everything.

Wow that is insane. The only two I have heard of are the CJ and Moeaki. Never mind then. And Christensen but I knew he didn't work out and I had no idea he was so highly rated.

Hate to say it but the last time I checked we were in the Big XII not the Big 10..

No chance someone frm pennsylvania wants to play outside the big 10 footprint....

Like I said before, we may be a better team right now, but we are still a long way away from where Iowa is in terms of recruiting. They get the high level talent, although not consistently.

It says he's from Glen Ellyn, Illinois. (Chicago Burb) Still heavy Big 10 country, so in the end, sentiment is probably the same.

The kid is overrated from many reports. Still a very good player though.

I agree. Although stars are not 100% reliable predictors of success in college, Iowa already has 2 4-star recruits for next year. Hopefully, that will change soon with our recent success/publicity.

Anyone who hasn't heard of Moeaki is not a football fan in the state of Iowa. Seriously?
Also, Feidorowicz is a redshirt freshman (i think?), so of course we wouldn't hear anything about him.

Whens the last time Iowa had a Dlineman over 300? Doesn't seem like an Iowa type DT. Maybe Kirk is changing? Huge pick up if it happens

He said he'd never heard of SOME of them. I'm guessing Moeaki is one that he had heard of.

I've heard of most of them, but mostly as cautionary tales. HA!

With four Top 10 finishes, a BCS bowl win, and two Big 10 titles (co titles), Iowa has proven it's not a one hit wonder under Ferentz. Plus, I recently read that 32 former Iowa Hawkeyes started this season on an NFL roster, which ranks 8th out of 238 college teams. Have to admit, that's a very impressive fact, and one that makes it much easier to recruit.

While beating OSU was huge, we can't afford to knock off an OSU from time to time, but get throttled multiple times a season. We need to get to a point where we're winning 7-8+ games a year, competitive in every game, sending more guys to the NFL, etc. before we'll start seeing classes loaded with 3 and 4 star guys.

Umm, I'm a Hawkeye fan. I've heard of every single one of these guys, that's why I listed them. I said guys that some of you may not have heard of before. As in strictly Cyclone fans who don't follow Hawkeye recruiting like I do.

Actually, UI has put more DL in NFL than OL past couple years (last year was the bumper crop)
They need BIG time help on the DL - UI working JuCo very heavy this year for DL, which admits their lack of talent as they do not go the JuCo route very much.
Adding this caliber of HS DT makes a lot of sense, and having the opportunity to play right away has not been something Iowa could sell in the past. Didn't need to - they were loaded up front with lots of depth. That is all gone.
Smart move, too, to poach PSU. Turmoil creates opportunity - like in B-ball w/Roy Williams.
