Those turnovers we had were pretty much all on our players. They were just a bunch of sloppy rookie mistakes by our young players. And our defense played great.

God I hate revisionist history. If you are going to throw out the sloppy mistakes that resulted in turnovers, maybe we should throw out the offensive penalties that killed drives. We could play that stupid game all day.

This year one team won convincingly. Be smart about it and go away rather than trying to spin it into something it wasn't.

I do not see why we should get rallied up. It is the coach from freaking UNI talking to whatever UNI fans are out there. Of course the man is bitter, he has been at UNI his entire career. Do you really expect someone who has seemingly been stuck at UNI since high school to tell his own fan(?s?) how much better ISU is in every regard?

I don't give two jerks or a squirt about UNI, but Farley did coach at Kansas under Terry Allen for a few years. He has hardly been at UNI his entire career. Of course, don't let some facts get in the way of a true Clone-to-the-bone rant, general. We are a sensitive bunch. If we had any true FBS pride we wouldnt worry about what a coach from an inferior division thinks about us.

this thread is simply stunning... Actual quotes from Mark Farley on ISU:

Said UNI coach Mark Farley: "They were the better team today. I don't want to take anything away from them ... but it's frustrating to know that we have a football team that played to (its) age instead of (its) ability."

"I'm now looking at what (Iowa State) is doing. I'm not looking at who they are. And that's always been a part of UNI: you're always getting worried that you're playing Iowa State," said Farley.

"The note to make about Iowa State is that I really think Coach Rhoads has changed the attitude of the team, and that makes them a really good team," Farley said.

The outrage!!!!!!

Wow...this thread is interesting. As a football coach myself, you are going to give credit to the other team (just as Farley did...see ACTUAL quotes above). You are also going to look at the POSITIVES of your own football team. He isn't going to come out and say, "we shouldn't have even drove down there" or "we are going to simply fold the rest of the season". Give me a break guys.

As for 1A transfers....I would LOVE to see that list of players. Could you please gather that information? UNI does well EVERY year with players from Iowa. Typically, that is our entire roster. UNI competes with all 1A teams they play with. They don't always win, but they usually put up a pretty good fight. Ask your own team. UNI has only won 3 times against ISU since 1992, but for as much s*it that is being spoken in this thread, we should never compete against you.

For those ISU fans who are normal, I am sorry.

You can bash on UNI all you want, but don't forget that ISU is a below-average to average FBS team. Don't forget that. They always have been, and I doubt Rhoads is going to do a whole lot to change that.

Nice first post, db. The game was 27-0, and yet there are UNI fans over here talking trash. That's as stupid as any of us going to Iowa's board to talk trash this year. If there are ISU fans acting like you guys on Iowa's board they are idiots.

There's no rationalizing a 27 point loss with stats as the other moron in the thread is trying to do.

Congrats on the well deserved win 3 years ago, now STFU with rationalizing a 27 point loss to ISU this year.

Who's rationalizing anything? You guys started the thread. You are flat out making things up, about what we have said, and what Farley has said.

I love this post. I was waiting for some bean counter to mention his stint as KU LB coach. If you were familar with college coaching you would realize that spending all but a few years at one program is virtually spending his entire career at one place.

It has nothing to do with us talking trash. You guys were talking trash about our coach, for reasons that weren't even valid, and when we tried to come back with facts, you shut it down.

We didn't try to rationalize any loss. You beat us 27-0. Plain and simple. I'm saying stop making up facts (1A transfers, coach quotes, fans saying things, etc).

Enjoy the job while you have it, come on regents pull the cord on state money being spent on athletics!!

Wow, what a failure of a post.

The simple fact is that had UNI not continued their early season habits of turning the ball over, that would have been a dogfight.

People on here still claim that when we lost to them in 2007 that it was because of turnovers, how does the same not apply here?

I get that the majority of the "fans" at UNI are more hawk than Panther. But as pissy as this group gets when Iowa tries to big time us, the fact that many on here have the nerve to do that to UNI speaks LOUDLY to the insecurity of this fanbase.

GET OVER IT, IOWA STATE TAKES GENERAL FUND MONEY ALSO!

Because all UNI graduates are Iowa fans. We've discussed this ad nausem on numerous occasions.

Man, people are sensitive in this thread. This comment may have had some truth..........................if today was 1982.

Never understand when people say that. Of course there are some, but I remember sittin in class at ISU with many people wearing UI and UNI clothes, talking about their games, etc.

I personally don't care what Farely says - UNI has won just enough to say what he wants - looks kind of stupid doing it especially when you lose 27-0, but that's on him - this game is a must for our schedule due to the fans they bring and the loss of the Nebraska gate. I think CPR is a very good coach and very good coaches rarely lose to teams with inferior talent and resources like FCS teams. In UNI's best year, they should be competitive but not winning against Big 12 teams in Football. I think CPR will make good on this going forward with this series and hopefully their fans will still come even though they will be losing. If it takes him disparaging ISU to keep his fans believing they can win, I am all for it
