I am surprised Riley didn't get it. First year coach, could win the Big 12 outright and even a National Championship.

I think it had to be between Campbell and Riley but with the roster Oklahoma had compared to ours Matt definitely did more with less.
There was a good chance that they'd give it to Lincoln Riley for taking over an OU team and getting them into the top 4 with a good chance to win the conference. Campbell deserves it, but if you go by stats, which they did for most of the other awards, Lincoln looks pretty good as well. Riley might end up getting National Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Coach Campbell. And also to his family for their sacrifices. To his coaches for teaching and preparing him. To his staff, they also get to share this on their resume forever. To his parents and extended family for believing in him. To the AD and the administration who have a goal larger than the present moment. This award raises all boats under the Cyclone flag.

On the other hand, I wish they would go back to the hashtag raise the standard instead of #standardraised.
Obviously we had two monumental top 5 wins this year, but 7-5 isn't new territory for this program. Mac and Rhoads got there several times.
