He's our 8th man for ****s sake he's not going to average a double double

No kidding. Not to mention he's a fricking sophomore. Some people on here act as though if they don't produce double doubles they have no right to be on the team.

I am calling for a reduction in hiltonmagic25 posting time. hm25 adds absolutely nothing out there right now. No confidence.

Matt's struggling a bit, but he's not the only one. I, for one, I'm proud of him for not hanging his head. He goes out and plays hard and tries to do his part. He's just struggling to find a rhythm, but there's no one better than Fred to help him get it figured out.

Just out of curiosity I ran the numbers for the last 6 games. Matt is averaging 12 minutes per game. In those 6 games he is: 5-19 fg, 2-13 3pts, 3 TO, 7 REB, 4 assists. He adds absolutely nothinig. This is the only thing I can't figure out with Hoiberg.... I realize trying to get a guy out of a slump, but if he can't guard, can't dribble, can't pass, and can't hit an open shot he doesn't belong in the game. Give his minutes to Nader and play a bigger line up.

If he's so bad, then why does Fred play him. If you're gunna call out Thomas, then you better call out Fred for playing him in the same breath. And if you call out Fred then you better have a good reason, like you're at practice and you've seen everything.

He's our 8th man for ****s sake he's not going to average a double double
Heck he goes in with McKay sometimes. I wouldnt say hes our 8th man. I think he is supposed to be our spark plug. Which is he obviously is not doing Right now offensively. He hits more contested shots than he does open ones.

I truly believe if you stick with him you will see a senior year similar to what Scott Christopherson did

I think your timing is off on that but that's fine. I'd argue that the part of the game where KU took control was when BDJ brought the ball up three straight trips and popped three ill-advised shots without passing the ball once and KU going back down and getting a bucket....Even if MT was in at that point, it's not his fault.

No, but every minute he plays is one minute less than Naz, Nader or McKay get. At least you get a little better D and rebounding from Nader. McKay is on a totally different level than Thomas. Even though Naz can be streaky, he hits way more shots and is slightly better on D than Thomas.

Frankly, I think this team would be better off giving Thomas's minutes to Edozie.

Naz got torched by Seldon and Greene all night leaving them open so normally I like that argument but Naz defense tonight was nonexistant

He also has 2+ years left. You know Frank Kaminsky is? Probably national player of the yr this yr? Averaged 4 pts and a few rbs his soph yr and didn't really turn it on till the end of last yr. Matt has been behind a lot of good players and still has 2 years to turn it around. Naz, Monte, and 1st half BDJ sucked tonight too. We were tired and lazy on D. Matt may never turn into a great player but I sure as hell am not going to give up on him now.

Unfortunately the closest he'll get to a double double this year is in turnovers and missed shots. He looks completely lost out there.

He has two more years as a cyclone and will do good things. However......he is playing too many minutes now. And he knows it too....thus the pucker job.
tonight, we were rolling along and he came in the game and that is when KU went on their run. I don't know.....he just isn't adding anything now and we have other options. You could argue that the turning point of tonights game was when he came in and we ceased scoring with about what, 5 minutes left in the half. I'll have to go back and look.

ill start by saying he's not the reason we lost......but....

in our 5 losses he's 5-26 or 19% from the field. When you already can't guard a gallon of milk....that needs to be way higher.

KU played great, we missed a lot....but KU was just much better tonight.

we need to get something from our bench besides McKay. Nader isn't giving much, Thomas nothing, Custer isn't ready....that's fairly alarming.

Okay I'm calling out Fred... whoaaa Happy now?

No..... But you look dumb for doing it.

I'm not here to say Thomas is playing really good, but I just don't see the point of a random fan calling out our own player, saying he doesn't deserve to play in the big 12. What are you trying to accomplish?

Clearly, Matt Thomas told him to play 9-10 feet off those guys, just like he told Hogue to leave Ellis wide open on that first half three.

If I'm Matt Thomas, I'm sure I don't buy into any crap about what a great fanbase this is at Iowa State.
