Maybe it is ISU

On the post game call in show yesterday somebody stated that they had been an ISU fan for 12 years and wondered if we were cursed because of all the bad things that have happened during that period.

The next caller was Denny from Clear Lake and he pointed out that the past 12 years have probably been one of the best periods in ISU history when you consider MBB, WBB and the football bowl games. I will agree that the last 3-4 years haven't been that good though.

Stupid thread.

The problem was the state that McCarney was tossed out of the program in. The only redeeming factor being that he left it better than he got it.

Talent makews coaches look better--and lack thereof makes them look worse.
Fixed it for you.

This is the whiniest thread I've ever seen.

Wow, we lose 1 neutral site Big 12 game and all the "Woe is me" cr** comes out...geez.

I hope our football team isn't as weak as half of you. Grow up, grab a pair, and man up. We're still freakin' 3-2 and have a pretty weak conference. We knew this team wasn't going to be world beaters from the get-go. I still see chances of victory in our future, which I couldn't say about the team halfway through the season in the last 3 years.

If you want to sit around and feel sorry for yourself, fine. I, for one, am not going to throw ISU under the bus because of one game.

Yep, we are ISU...and I thought we were better than this...

Maybe some of us are tired of the losing and a team that finds new ways to lose. We just lost to the worse team in the conference, well 2nd worse, do you really things are going to get better? Accept losing that is fine, but I hate to lose and this **** is getting old.

Yep, and if you didn't, why would you waste your time and money? That seems silly to me. If you really think we aren't going to be better than last in the big 12 north and ever win more than 3 games in a season, just jump ship now...

Everyone is tired of losing. It happens, no one likes to lose, but it happens. And no one said that we have to accept losing, I just don't see how the "Woe is me, ISU is cursed, the football gods hate us" cr** helps us at all. It just comes off as whiny...

I am starting to question why I do waste my money and Saturdays on ISU. I guess because I love the team and school and dont want to miss it once things do get better.

It is like some here are like we lost cool its no ones fault and move on. Watch other teams play, they dont make the mistakes our team does time and time again.

Even though some of the late 70's and late 90-2000s were good, ISU's overall record is still:

79
Iowa St.
480
577
46
1103
0.456
18926
20159
-1233

Out of 120 teams. ISU would need to go undefeated for 8+ seasons to get to a 500 record.

And what's worse is Kansas State, given all their recent success is:

91
Kansas St.
452
598
41
1091
0.433
18354
21172
-2818

Facts are facts and I don't see it changing much. Just don't kill the messenger.

Chizik is now 5-0 at Auburn and the team looks well coached
We now have our 4th OC that cannot figure out how to get this team to score, 2 of them were highly reguareded.
Time and time again ISU finds new way to lose FB games.
Just when you think things are going well, your best players go down, some lost of the season.
Uhhh... Have we not scored while in the red zone yet this year?

What the hell is this? A list of numbers without any semblance of organization?

Not saying that but only putting up 14 to 21 pts a game isnt getting it done. It leaves very little room for error.
If we're scoring in the red zone, it seems like we have an OC that knows how to score. Please tell me how I'm wrong with that assumption.

I quit caring about ISU football 2 years ago and have had a much much much happier life since.

If anyone on this board actually thinks ISU can have a consistently good football program in today's big money environment, well let's just say I'd like a hit of the sauce your taking....

I care about ISU football, but it's a game. It's just a game. I don't let it make me unhappy. If we lose, we lose. I can't control that, so no reason to get depressed about it. The bottom line is that I love the game of football, and I love Iowa State University. I'm not gonna cheer for anyone else, I go crazy when we win, but I'm not going to let it effect my personal happiness when we lose. It isn't that hard to do.

You know better than this. If I let ISU sports make me feel bad for more than a few hours after each loss, I wouldn't ever feel good from August to March. That's no way to live.

In my mind a true fan is out there win or lose, supporting their team. I'm that person. I'm never going to cheer for another team no matter how much we suck. I've just decided to not let something I can't control dictate how happy I am in life.

Its about putting points up in the red zone or not. If you score 75% of the time once in the red zone that is good. But if you only get there 3 times a game that 75% doesnt really do much for you.
