Granted, the data available is very limited so far but I did a little piece on his production per 30 minutes and compared it to Ejim's last year. I also, but a "competition" factor in to bring McKay's a little more down to earth, but he has produced pretty significantly in limited minutes.

Multiplied the above numbers by a factor of .8 to adjust for stiffer competition. Yes, I know I didn't adjust the FG% at all and that will probably go down a bit.

Granted, he's played against possibly the two worst teams on our schedule, but he's really productive given his limited minutes.

I see him playing around 20 min/game throughout the conference because he really plays intensely. Based on that, I see him averaging around 10 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 bpg.

I'm liking what he brings so far.

Here nor there
Not sure what his numbers will be, but he will get better. We are going to need McKay, Nader, and even Edozie to be impact guys off the bench on nights like the Maryland game.

Man, Edozie has a nice looking midrange jump shot.

He's also good at getting fouled and he's one of the best free throw shooters on the team.

(that might be a weakness in McKay's game, too.... teams will do hack-a-Jameel if he keeps clanking FTs...)

His offense isn't pretty, but getting fouled going up and draining the two is just as good as stuffing it.

McKay hasn't played anyone, but I think he'll be dependable. Drake and MVSU are like high school teams.

You know what, that was my concern as well watching the game. Hopefully it's just nerves. However, if he is not a reliable free throw shooter, it will limit our lineup options at the end of games. He could end up on the bench for the last 3 or 4 minutes of close games. Hopefully, free throws will start going in for him.

Yeah, except half the time Edozie turns the ball over when he gets it in the paint. I've never seen such a strong guy get the ball slapped out of his hands so easily.

As for the op, no offense but two games against crap teams makes any kind of statistical analysis absolutely worthless. It's way to small a sample against two teams that aren't anywhere close to representative of our normal strength of opponent on the schedule. Gonna have to stick with the qualitative analysis for now, which amounts to he looks pretty ******* good!

McKay's value is in his ability to help on defense in the paint and run the middle of the floor on breaks. There are a lot of good players on this team, but there is no one with his ability to get up and block shots that look unblockable, except maybe BDJ. That is a great value, because after a couple guys get their shots that normally get through blocked, they start thinking about it and don't take shots or alter them because of the previous block.

Last night was kind of a mess with several bigs trying to fill the lane at once causing confusion on where to throw the pass. Everyone wanted to get that big dunk I guess.

If his FT shooting does not improve, than he may be sitting on the bench at the end of games.

I totally agree with this...I was not able to watch the game at all or listen to the game whole game, but the early n he missed 4 FT's and along with his FT's against Drake, he was O-fer for FT's.

Teams will pick this up and when he comes into game, they will just foul him and we will walk away with no points on that possession. I am sure he will pick it up, but if it does not get better, he will not be seen at the end of games, especially road games.
