We are trying to close out a small retirement fund that my wife has (long story short, it's not doing anything but deducting $25/year for a maintenance fee). After she called and got all the paperwork filled out, they said they needed a Medallion stamp signature to process it. She has called several banks and the only ones that she's found that has it we'd have to be bank customers there to use it. Anybody know of a place in the area that doesn't require this?

Normally the bank that holds the funds is able to give their medallion signature upon closing, not sure if some other bank will guarantee since that signature means the bank is liable for any forgery within the documents regarding the security (in this case, any errors on the retirement fund).
