Had to happen. Now the important part to find the coach. Very important decision.

Kind of surprised to see Pope go. Never had a problem with him or our RB's.

The firing of Messingham had to happen to give some hope and a selling point to next year.

Would have liked to have seen Bleil go instead of Pope, but at least they're trying something.

Re: Messingham, Pope fired

Wow, what huge news, especially for everyone on this board after countless threads. party time!

edit: I always thought he would go, but some on this board convinced me otherwise, or at least a demotion. I'm a tad surprised for some reason. But good job CPR.

Kinda surprised. Mess had his moments with good playcalls, but he also had some really mind boggling ones, and I think you could tell he was in a bit over his head to be a BCS level OC. His ability to develop QB's also left something to be desired.

He is a human being though, so I have empathy for him losing his job and wish him nothing but the best in the future.

Shocked! Now we know Rhoads is serious. Good luck to those guys, hope they land on their feet.
