People have been speculating all season the this one would be his last. Not surprised by this. I am guessing they go outside because of all the things that have been alleged the past two years against the program.
Well that’s news. Do they go internal on a candidate?
not that I’m that concerned but the Campbell insiders have always said it was one of the jobs he might want.
Yeah if I were to guess I think Fickell would be the early front-runner.

Cincy has one of the top QB commits in the country. That would be a kick in the junk for them if they were to lose both.

I doubt they lose the QB. He's from Cincinnati, and it could be a situation he wanted to go to Cincy no matter who the coach was.
Dantonio orchestrated employment for the parents of two MSU football players, with mega-donor Bob Skandalaris, whose name is on the football facility.
One of their donors names is Skandalaris. That is fantastic
Uh, no. He beat Harbaugh once and that took one of the flukiest plays in CFB history. I think they would prefer he stayed and continued to run that sinking ship.
Yep, it's not an easy job. Especially now when every year you are facing Ohio State, Penn St. & Michigan in your own division.Dantonio at MSU is a strange case. I think I'd describe it as a guy who did an incredible job there, but whose tenure has run its course for both on and off the field issues.
Overall MSU is an overrated job. With an 8 win season next year Campbell will match the # of wins in 5 years that Nick Saban accomplished at MSU. Seems like Perles is pretty revered there and was coach for a long time and was barely over .500.
Final top 10 finishes in the past 40 years - Perles (1), Saban (1), Dantonio (4).

I don't know if he has any interest in being a head coach but Phil Parker at Iowa is a MSU alum. Problem with him is probably his age. I would guess he is close to 60.
