Wonder if Lombardi could get automatic eligibility? We need an older backup qb and he is from Des Moines right? He played some this year.

Testifying
ESPNU radio thinks Bielema would be a great fit and could step in right away with no current college contract to get in the way.

Dantonio at MSU is a strange case. I think I'd describe it as a guy who did an incredible job there, but whose tenure has run its course for both on and off the field issues.

Overall MSU is an overrated job. With an 8 win season next year Campbell will match the # of wins in 5 years that Nick Saban accomplished at MSU. Seems like Perles is pretty revered there and was coach for a long time and was barely over .500.

Final top 10 finishes in the past 40 years - Perles (1), Saban (1), Dantonio (4).

Saban took over the team when it was just placed on probation by the NCAA, it took him a couple of seasons to rebuild from that .

Uh, no. He beat Harbaugh once and that took one of the flukiest plays in CFB history. I think they would prefer he stayed and continued to run that sinking ship.

Uh, yes. Dantonio was 8-5 against the Wolverines. Not many coaches at "little brother" Michigan St. have had winning records against Michigan.

5. Matt Campbell, Iowa State
He’s better positioned to win now, and with a good team coming back he’s unlikely to make a move that’s slightly above lateral. His buyout dropped to $5 million on Feb. 1, which the school could afford. He’d be a good fit, but the timing isn’t quite right. Michigan State has already put out feelers, but don’t expect it to happen.

I'm getting my Rollins Shield Betrayal Gif ready if Pollard goes "Hold My Beer" and hires Brian Ferentz.

Reigns would be Fran
Ambrose would be Kirk
Orton would be Purdy

They were talking about Campbell as a possibility for the MSU job on the Sat. radio tonight, like one pointed out, with the money he is making at ISU, the MSU job would not be a big enough jump for him to take. They all thought Campbell could be a lot chooser about his next job and wait for a blue blood job to open up.

0 chance CMC goes there.

He racked those up against Hoke and RichRod lead programs. In three years, he would have been .500.

Brady and Rich weren't the reason Dantonio's Sparty teams finished in the top ten in the nation four times.
