Wonder if Lombardi could get automatic eligibility? We need an older backup qb and he is from Des Moines right? He played some this year.
He is terrible. So inaccurate. Still no idea why he don't switch positions. He is so inaccurate.
I was wondering why they had so many players enter the transfer portal. I wonder if the players knew this was coming and decided to jump ship. They have quite a few kids that held ISU offers out of HS and some of them went to Ames on visits. Maybe we end up snagging a transfer or two.
Dantonio at MSU is a strange case. I think I'd describe it as a guy who did an incredible job there, but whose tenure has run its course for both on and off the field issues.
Overall MSU is an overrated job. With an 8 win season next year Campbell will match the # of wins in 5 years that Nick Saban accomplished at MSU. Seems like Perles is pretty revered there and was coach for a long time and was barely over .500.
Final top 10 finishes in the past 40 years - Perles (1), Saban (1), Dantonio (4).
Uh, no. He beat Harbaugh once and that took one of the flukiest plays in CFB history. I think they would prefer he stayed and continued to run that sinking ship.
5. Matt Campbell, Iowa State
He’s better positioned to win now, and with a good team coming back he’s unlikely to make a move that’s slightly above lateral. His buyout dropped to $5 million on Feb. 1, which the school could afford. He’d be a good fit, but the timing isn’t quite right. Michigan State has already put out feelers, but don’t expect it to happen.
@dorsy5 I’m watching you. \I love that somebody disagrees with you posting a tweet. Crazy world here on CF lately.
Uh, yes. Dantonio was 8-5 against the Wolverines. Not many coaches at "little brother" Michigan St. have had winning records against Michigan.
He racked those up against Hoke and RichRod lead programs. In three years, he would have been .500.
