Fairfield beat George Mason 101-96 and a blast from the past Mike Evanovich had 32 points and 7 rebouds. 9 threes...

Meh he went off tonight, but was below average during the season. Only averaging 6.9 points and 3.0 rebounds a game... Still would have been nice to have him as a warm body to put on the floor.

Good for him, but let's be clear that tonight's performance was not the norm. It was more points than he scored in the previous 5 games. He's a role player averaging 6.9 points and 19.3 minutes in the MAAC conference.

Role Player is perfect description...that is what we lack because we are having trouble keeping them four years (they don't understand their role). We need role players in the coming years to step up in big games to get us over the hump when our stars have an off game. That wasn't the purpose of my post, I just thought Mike was a great guy and wanted to give him some props.

His 55 made 3 pointers and 45% 3pt % wouldn't have helped us or anything. He had more made 3's and more attempted than anyone on ISU's roster this year! Mike was the 4th option for Fairfield this year and when he was asked to step he did. Unlike our supporting cast this year.

PS - Mike was 8 of 11 from 3 in a game against Rider as well this year. Maybe they should have asked Mike to do more?

McD annual defections just drive me crazy. How will he ever get a decent team? He is more than unlucky, he may be a failure at retention.
