The question is, next man up or 7-man lineup?
Adding to my own question, I wonder how much Noju or Watson have practiced/scrimmaged with the top 8? Probably not a lot since the lineup became settled. Which might lead to mostly top 7 tonight, working one or both in over the next 2 days in preparation for WVU.

Does Jones start now?

I hope not. What would Fran be able to gush about if he wasn’t a sixth man?

But seriously, as long as it doesn’t cause problems in the locker room I’d prefer to keep the rotation the same and have Jones still come off the bench. Put Watson or Nojus in the starting lineup. Jones still gets lots of minutes, so it isn’t like he isn’t seeing the floor.

This game now has the classic team rallies around the injury feel and ISU covers.

I’ll try to take the silver lining and say for the season this makes the team better because Heise, Watson and Nojus have to step up into bigger roles.

Personally I have a feeling Nojus is going to come on strong. We shall see.

if there was 1 player you told me we could lose to an injury and i'd feel OK about it, it would be Milan, tbh. MAYBE Jackson.. but his size is great.

Milan being a threat to score from about anywhere and go off for 25 is still very effective to stretch out a defense even if he's not hitting or getting good looks.

I would guess they get more work than we know to prep for foul issues.

This is part of the game. It's pretty rare to have all your contributing players make it through a full season completely healthy. Houston lost 1-2 key guys right before the NCAA tournament, then lost Jamal Shead during their Sweet 16 game and still almost won. Enough with the "woe is me" attitude.

look at Auburn with Broome. I know thats a smaller timeframe injury but still an injury

it could be worse for us, for sure

Yep. Milan has hit multiple 3's in 8 of our 15 games. That threat affects the defense. If he's out for a bit, we'll just need Heise and Jefferson to be willing to shoot a little more from the perimeter than they have thus far (and obviously hopefully make at a little higher percentage as well).

On the other hand, let's see how much some can withhold from melting down if this results in dropping a few more games.

I can see the 'well he hardly scored a lot of games so why would it make any difference!? TJ didn't prepare the team for this!' takes coming out when his box score doesn't tell the story.
