I'm not sure what's happened to Jacobson, but he has taken a big step back this year. He's not getting enough rebounds and taking too many three's. It's time for Conditt to start, in my opinion.

I’m fine with conditt starting. But he played 31 minutes Saturday. I’m guessing he can’t play a lot more. I’d rather have him in late.

I sort of get tired of people ******** about him starting when he’s playing a lot.

I appreciate people maintaining their optimism regarding the basketball season. Really. I think, however, people are choosing to overlook the reality of where the program is, coupled with the overall talent on the roster, and yes, the coaching. We're not an NCAA caliber team. We have one stud, a couple pretty good players, and the rest are decent role players. It's the unfortunate reality.

Agreed, but maybe the dynamic of him starting and Jacobson (excuse the cliche) providing a spark off the bench will make a difference with this team. Who knows, I'm grasping at straws with this team.

That's the first time he's played more than 22 minutes in a game. In 8 of the 13 games he's played less than 20. He hasn't been playing a lot.

He should be playing close to 30 in regulation each game. And he hasn't been playing that many minutes. He was averaging about 18-19 minutes a game before TCU.

Well written, especially the jack-ass fans part. As an out of state fan of the Hawkeyes AND the Cyclones, I read this site far more than the Hawkeye site mostly because it's not nearly as negative. Admittedly the constant back and forth gets ridiculous and redundant, for the most part Cyclone fans on this site stay positive about their programs.

The Hawkeye sites are full of negative posters, when (in football particularly) they have far less to complain about. I got tired of it, hope Cyclone fans on this site don't become that.

see the last few years of Paul Rhoads....

but why does it hurt for fans? I was in on rhoads too long. But I had no control over when he was fired. I’m guessing you didn’t either.

like I’ve said before, being a keyboard warrior for firing prohm will not convince Jamie to fire him. It’ll make him support him more.

Exactly. You can't make the NCAA tournament with a defensive rebounding percentage at 318th in the country. ISU is inefficient enough as it is on the defensive end.

There have been some smaller 4 guard lineups under Prohm, but defensive rebounding is my greatest criticism during the Prohm tenure.

It was consistently poor at Murray State so it seems like a coaching problem.

Thanks for that perspective CyAtlanta. I stay off all other sports forums except CF. I feel like Cyclone fans have been getting a bad rap with everything going on. Cyclone Nation is a very loyal and patient fan base by my estimation. There are always some individuals that take things too far.
