All boys, yes. I try not to admit to the actual number here to avoid the ensuing ridicule. Let's just say a litter is accurate. Plus we had a couple of "loaner" boys staying with us for about four months while their mother was out of state, and even though they went back home about a week before Christmas, Santa still had socks for them here too. They have had a rough year.

ah, then I shan't pry. Hopefully the loaner boys will get their socks yet.

Dang 0 for 1 on the Notebook line.

Two of my boys said it was showing at some Confirmation retreat they had to go to, and after ten minutes, they decided to go shoot hoops with the monks.

I would probably rather watch you race than watch the Notebook. :smile:

Carvers - You are a saint. A saint that sometimes has a dirty mind and sometimes uses inappropriate language. Still. A saint.

Not at all. Just doing what any sort of decent person would for their kids' friends. I was blessed to have them here.

A confessional humblebrag -- I've won approx $5k on college basketball DFS so far this year. I don't like to tell most people I know IRL I'm a degenerate though.

Not exactly sure.
Soooooooo do you want to meet to watch the Notebook and maybe try watching Top Gun to see if you like it now? lol

:jimlad::jimlad:

Yeah, best to keep your distance curt. If you haven't been paying attention, all her husband has to do is look her way and she's prego.

My parents got me a golf simulator for Christmas, I took it to my girlfriend's parent's house later that day so that I could play around with it with her brother, he's also addicted to golf. I haven't even picked up a golf club in almost a month, and we played for four and a half hours on Christmas day. I haven't touched it since, and I'm still sore ALL OVER.

The trajectory of my career for the next year depends on the acceptance of a research paper that I have spent the last 1.5 years of my life on. It got hammered in initial review and we're cutting the deadline razor-thin-close with revisions & the second draft (waiting for statistics work from another author). This ******* paper has encompassed my entire life the past 4 months; it's in the back of my mind at all hours, I don't sleep very well, and subsequently I'm short-tempered all the time with friends and family. My wife is due with our little girl in two weeks, and while I'm so excited to meet her, this constant black cloud has dampened what should be a joyous occasion.

Been awhile since my last confessional. Back in October, I accidentally kicked my neighbor's dog because it creeped up behind me in the dark while I was wearing headphones and doing yard work. It started barking and I got startled. Now every time it sees me outside, it pees a little.

You can confess the kick wasn't an accident. This is a safe place.

So my wife did the same thing you did last year. Except she was pregnant, and finished the paper shortly before the lil' guy made his debut. Fun fact - if you're expecting to write research papers for a living, you will always be cutting the deadline "Razor-thin" and having your first draft get **** on.

I just assumed there was always a black cloud hanging over Iowa City.
