Umm no. Lol. He won't even be on a draft board. Right now he's a very good college pg, but he's not nba material, yet.

There are over 400,000 NCAA athletes and almost all of them will be going pro in something other than sports. Monte will be an exception.

So I have no idea, what does Monte have to do to go pro?

He has two inchs on Trey Burke, but Monte is 20ish pounds lighter. Is it just about getting jacked?

I agree. He does it all. I honestly think Burke is probably the better 3 pt shooter if it came down to it, but not by much. Monte's are normally wide open and Burke can hit tough ones with a hand in his face. I honestly think if Monte went pro after this year he would get drafted. 1-2 more years and he will be lottery. There are plenty of NBA teams that would love a tough kid who plays D, distributes well, and doesnt turn it over.

Was just texting with a buddy. I know he needs to get stronger and develop a better outside game (although he lead the team last yr) but could we possibly lose Monte to the NBA after this yr? Honestly what can't he do? Pass, shoot, D, FT, dribble. What else is there for a pg? He's like Trey Burke but younger with a slightly worse 3 pt shot. I don't think he leaves at all, but if he did I think he'd get drafted. Draft is all about potential now.

Yeah I'm starting to think it is, Monte seems like a very tall 6'2 and is a better athlete than Burke. Burke was a great college player but Morris has more potential at the next level, he's got unbelievable vision, a decent and improving shot. He could certainly be a guy who blows up this year.

I predict, his will be the next jersey to hang in Hilton, well maybe not the first, but It will hang there eventually!

I'd disagree with that quite a bit, Burke was a lot more explosive than Monte has shown so far. If the Burke comparison is what you're going with then Burke was a much more proven scorer who shouldered a lot bigger load than Monte has so far.

I'm not down on Monte at all or saying that he can't get to that level but let's slow down with the "he's as good as a lottery pick" in his second game as a sophomore.

Man man is going to break his own assist to turnover ratio as a sophomore. Guy is special. Cant take the time we have with him for granted. Guys like him don't come around often

You have no idea what you are watching then. This is his last year, one more maybe. Zero chance he plays four years unless he gets hurt.

Burke's lack of explosiveness was one of the biggest knocks on him, Monte is at least his equal in that regard and is bigger too. Burke relied a ton on his step back jumper in college, which worked great for him then but doesn't work so well in the NBA against, bigger quicker guys. Burke was a great college player, Morris has the potential to be a better NBA player.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say he is the best pure point guard in college basketball.

His jersey wont hang if he leaves after this year. No way. No how.

Some guys just seem "more ISU" and for reason I don't get that sense from him. Niang, Ejim, even Long all seem "more ISU". Does that make sense? ?

I understand what you're saying but all three of the guys you named have been at ISU longer than Monte. Give it time.
